Reminiscent of some of G.W.’s worst moments when he would say something stupid and his office would clarify what he “meant” with a statement later.

We don’t need another President who doesn’t know what he’s talking about a lot of the time.

That's nothing. Wait till the video of a Trump Rally MSNBC’s Madcow played, over and over again, goes viral.

There has always been a “wall” between the Republican Party and most of the black community. Trump built that wall 100 feet higher.

Appalling.

Well, he is a master builder, right?

no other candidate comes close to Trump’s position on immigration ....

What's his position? Will it be the same tomorrow as it is today?

“He is firmly where he started regarding immigration ...no other candidate comes close to Trump’s position on immigration”

Where he “started”??? Trump was quite consistent all the way up until just before his campaign announcement in supporting amnesty for illegals - until June 2015. https://youtu.be/Enw6Yx19qSg?t=7s Trump was calling for the GOP to adopt “comprehensive immigration reform”, etc. - to supposedly improve the party’s standing with hispanics and also blasted Romney for taking a “mean spirited”, too hard of a line on immigration. http://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/trump-backed-amnesty-for-illegals-as-recently-as-june/ Apparently after he decided to run for the GOP nomination he decided that wouldn’t make for the best marketing campaign and flipped to the other side on the issue...he was for amnesty before he was against it. http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Donald-Trump-Ronald-Kessler/2012/11/26/id/465363/

In Detroit debate Trump said he would get rid of EPA- but on Iowa he said he'd use EPA to enforce higher Ethanol standards than Obama's.

Far from the first time he's done that and it won't be the last. He just makes it up as he's going along depending on the audience - shift in marketing campaign and in beliefs. But in both cases the Trump supporters would argue he is correct and if you disagree you are GOPe...even though Trump is clearly disagreeing with himself.

When asked a question, he answers from the gut, with his instincts; then has to backpedal or clarify as he reads about the topic and finds out the details: as an executive, it's more important to make decisions and keep moving, than it is to write a graduate level treatise on every aspect of every one of your positions, and then defend it against your competitors, the Dems, and the press, before doing anything.

Remember that most of the politicians he would've talked to about this, are inside the DC bubble; so they think the rumors are merely xenophobic cis-het homophobic racists who can't read, projecting their failures onto world-class foreign competition: because that is what the K-street lobbyists tell the other politicians.

In my opinion, if you’re really a conservative, if you’ve thought the important issues of the day through, if you know the constitution and believe in the constitution, what comes from your gut wll be in line with those principles. You won’t have to do a lot of backleddling.

Well... he’s actually homing in on what’s populist, which is mild conservative to centrist.

Still, a country mile to the right of where any national Democrat is.

“Donald J. Trump said he wanted to expand the number of visas available for highly skilled immigrants.”..........

How many of the so-called Muslim “refugees” fit that criteria? Damn few I would wager. Not to mention illegals and others who have NO papers to show us who they are.

I’ve had it with the medias explanations related to what Trump actually stated. They (media) love to chop out words, twist statements or fail to clearly state what the speaker (doesn’t matter who) says.

I didn’t hear the debate, but it sounds like Trump got rattled and probably distracted by other jabs?

Time for clarification. Trump had evolved on the visas after Jeff Sessions sent his top aide to become Trump’s chief advisor. So yes, Trump has been listening to the Sessions team and actually taking their advice.

Here are the specifics of his plan for skilled labor, and it ROCKS ...

Immigration Reform That Will Make America Great Again
https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/immigration-reform

Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program’s lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.

Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. In the year 2015, with 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not USCIS.

There is no relationship between student and HB1 visas, and illegals running the border. NYT connects nonexistent dots to trip Trump.

That’s a compelling point. But too little too late.

This late in the primary, the only reason to vet Trump now is either to have a split convention or to give ammo to the democrats.

Even Cruz fears a split convention now ...

CRUZ: Would lead to voter ‘revolt’...

The time for vetting the front runner is over.

“Trump is NOT softening...trust me on this one...he is a ‘street fighter’ and he will nail everyone of these people to the wall when the time is right...you don’t get to where he is in life without knowing how to fight to get what you want...”

So... he’s lying now, then?

Your “street fighter” is willing to say whatever he thinks you want to hear at any given moment.
