Would somebody who watched the debate elaborate on this? Did Trump really backtrack on immigration/wall? I sure hope not, but would appreciate comments from anyone who actually watched (and I did not).

All that means is more Trump supporters use the Trump supporting Drudge website. lol

Worthless unscientific poll is worthless. Everyone on earth knows Drudge is in the tank for Trump and naturally Trump supporters flock to sites they know support their candidate.

Trump is getting about 35% of the caucus/primary vote. Period. If you believed these unscientific Drudge polls he should have won by now with well over 50% of the vote. A lot of the surge in caucus/primary turnout is actually anti-Trump.

Popularity poll on Drudge perhaps, but anyone who actually watched that debate knows better.

I’m not sure anyone won, but I do know who lost.

Rubio is not only out. He has destroyed his own career in just a matter of days. I have no doubt that his attacks did some damage to Trump, but only in the short run. Now as it becomes more and more clear that his attacks have no substance Trump is once again rolling on. If he had waited to go nuclear until slightly before the Florida primary he might have had a chance at winning his own state and making it to the convention.

Cruz’s attacks have been equally nasty, but he has a whole life of acting like a disingenuous alcoholic jerk who no one can stand to be around once they get to know him. So his behavior is no surprise to anyone. Plus Cruz won his own state. He will be around reading Green Eggs and Ham to a new generation of fellow senators. But Rubio is history.

You know, Brietbart’s radio show on Sirius/XM with Steve Bannon is refreshing in that it is audience driven. All kinds of views are given from the voters, and Bannon is so good as host.

I learn a lot from American voters as well as the reporters who contribute throughout the show.

Going back to the debate topic: I think Bannon would make a great moderator.

TRUMP and CRUZ should take a clue from non-confrontational KASICH who is rising in the polls.

He won’t drop out until after March 15, the date of the Florida primary. He’s a bit thick-headed, so perhaps not even then.

Rubio seems to be sinking fast. I think it likely that, after March 15, it will be Trump vs Cruz.

Or maybe just "Trump Triumphant".

Cruz has two paths to the Presidency and neither of those paths include allying with Trump.

1. The GOP is now desperate to beat Trump and Cruz is in the best position to do so. Kasich is a joke and Rubio isn’t there. This is why Cruz is now making the argument that only he can beat Trump and then, only in a two man race. Even figuring Trump is an 85% lock on the nomination, Cruz holds the lion’s share of the remaining %. A 15% chance to be President trumps a 30-40% chance to be VP.

2. Trump wins. In 4-8 years, the GOP is going to have to pick up the pieces of an Arnie/Jesse populist in the WH. Who will be in a better position than the previous conservative candidate that starts with a base of support, an infrastructure, and an electorate chastened to fix its mistake.

Both pathways require Cruz to remain an alternate to Trump and not an ally.

[Sorry, but we’ve had enough of the “non-confrontational” types.]

Both of them are engaging in half-truths now. They need to get back on message.

So why didn’t anyone do that for Ted?

In this DR poll or any other DR poll.

People keep saying oh it’s so easy to do, but no one ever does it.

Kinda makes you go hmmmm.

Hey trisham, what’s the magic formula for getting a thread on the “Breaking News” side bar? Seems like this would be something everyone would want to see.

Eating your own boogers during a debate is no way to campaign for President. It’s certainly a unique strategy, though.
