Mitt Romney is about to smash Donald Trump in a speech for the ages

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney plans to bash Donald Trump in a speech Thursday, according to excerpts of the speech being passed around social media.

In quoted remarks released by Bloomberg Politics editor Mark Halperin, Romney calls Trump "a phony, a fraud."

"He's playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat," Romney is expected to say.

Romney, who recently has been publicly critical of Trump's campaign, announced Thursday's speech on Wednesday at the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

I’m listening to Leon Panetta discuss Presidential temperament. Sounds to me like he’s discussing Obama to a ‘T’.
‘His history is not one of reaching out to people. He has a tremendous amount of confidence in his own opinions. Whether he is willing to reach out remains to be seen. The bigger concern is whether or not somebody this very divisive, has been insulting, attacking people on a personal basis, because of their race, somebody who appeals to the worst in the American People can go to Washington as President of the United States and be able to deal with those you have to deal with in the world to resolve issues. Our forefathers did not design a Constitution that supports authoritarianism or tyranny in our government. It provides a Constitution that provides a system of checks and balances. Any President that goes to Washington is going to have to deal with 535 members of Congress, others in the country, leaders in the world if they are going to have any chance of being able to lead this country.”
Doesn’t that sound familiar? Are the Dems really in that much denial?

The GOPe’s plan is to set up a convention fight where Ryan, Mitt or Bush III are the ticket thereby insuring a GOP defeat.

If they do this I will leave the party for good after 45 years.

Slapd*ck Romney has no problem attacking the possible GOP nominee, but was scared to say anything about Obozo. He’s such a loser.

He couldn't stand up to a woman, Candy Crowley!

Go ahead, defend Romney. Cruz aligns with the loser Romney and he is toast.

What doesn’t destroy Trump makes him stronger.

Today Mitt will launch a public and massive attack on him.

Tonight Rubio and Cruz will pound him from both sides.

By tomorrow at this time, Trump will be Godzilla.

This is the GOPe (possibly even the RNC) begging Romney to help destroy Trump.

Trump will flame him. An unwarranted attack from the rear? I’m sure that it will feel like treason to him, and I’m sure Romney will get both barrels in the face.

If Mitt shows a nasty side, it will reflect more on Mitt than Trump.

Precisely WHO do they think listens to a proven loser, much less takes advice from him? Romney is a prime example of why the GOPe is being ignored by "We, The People"

Speaks to the incredible over-the-top hubris of this man that he actually believes that his going out and making a speech can change the entire dynamics.

Mitt and Obama deserve each other.

The ruling elite still don’t understand the degree of anger from the citizenry. Is it going to take a replay of the French revolution to make the point? Heads will roll will take on a whole new meaning.
