Kristol Lays Out Strategy to Give White House to Hillary: Trump ‘Shouldn’t Win’
Breitbart ^ | 3/2/2016 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/02/2016 7:36:25 AM PST by lodi90

In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an “acceptable” candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).

The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.

If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBC’s Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.

As you’ll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

What in the world is wrong with these idiots? I can’t believe they would have the nerve to say they would rather have Hillary.

Nothing is wrong with him, he's telling the truth. Anyone who isn't part of their clique, who doesn't kiss the power brokers rings, is worse than any democrat to those establishment hypocrites.

I suppose the good thing is that now that the mask is off and the corruption and cronyism is revealed on full display for even the most dense to see, the GOP can finally be dispensed with and a good party can rise from its ashes.

Which is why they are now hoping Ted stays as long as he can to take some delegates.
Once Ted does then the establishment comes in and backstabs him.

Thanks for your statement!

I’m a Cruz supporter, but to publicly claim you’re a Republican and then acknowledge you’re prepared to hand the election over to Hillary is unconscionable! That makes you a traitor to America in my book.

not “real” but game changer.

Think Winston Churchill. He was elected to fight a war and then did not get reelected after the war.

At best whoever wins only has 8 years. Obama pushed communism for 7+ years. He destroyed 7% of the economy with obamacare and now the economy is still struggling to replace that 7%.

And there you have it: proof positive of what we’ve known all along: the GOPe is nothing but the minority partner of the Uniparty, but that’s quite good enough thank you very much, just so long as the gravy train keeps rolling right along, what with all of those free shrimp cocktails and caviar at the posh gala D.C. soirées, free jet trips around the world, free five star hotel living, free five star restaurant dining, and free skybox seats at the major league sporting events, all paid for by we peasants and lobbyists.

I’m sure Kristol will be quite pleased when President Hillary Clinton drives the final nail in the U.S. Constitution’s coffin when she appoints Barrack Hussein Obama to the Supreme Court to replace the late Antonin Scalia.

The U.S. Constitution will thus finally be permanently relegated by the “Progressives” to its well deserved position as a historically curious piece of dusty parchment scribbled by a bunch of dead white men, and any rights you may formerly have enjoyed under its former protection will be gone forever. When they come to confiscate all of Kristol’s firearms, I hope he remember’s his proudly principled support of President Hillary Clinton.

Would he form a new party under an extreme time crunch? Or would he attempt to get the nomination from one of the existing minor parties on the ballot in a smattering of states?

A pipe dream. To do this would not be to discard the leading candidate, but the two leading candidates, promoting a third who will be running on policies anathema to the first two and their supporters, depending on tribalism instead to hold the party together. I don't think that would work even with the brainlessly tribal Dems.

Hence defeat, and the known hazards of a Hillary Presidency (three Supreme Court justices, corruption, foreign policy disasters, socialist medicine, the whole nine yards) would be exacerbated by the loss of the Senate and very possibly the House as well. Is control of a moribund party worth all that? Because the Republican party will not bounce back from that sort of a self-inflicted disaster.

Kristol is, I hope, blowing smoke. He hasn't the personal authority to enact anything of the sort; the fear is that someone who does will be equally short-sighted.

The reality is what you have posted!

I wouldn’t have believed it just a few weeks ago. But it turns out the conspiracy theorists around here are right. The people in charge of the GOPe actually are controlled by globalist special interests. They have now been unmasked and they prefer an anti-American felon over Trump.

Add traitor to the anti-American Felon!

Yes, the reason for the rule is to make sure the establishment gets who they want, and not who the people want. If Trump gets over 50% of the delegates, he should get the nomination whether you like it or not. And furthermore, either all primaries and caucuses should be proportional, or all should be winner take all. Why should states like Florida have more say than Texas?

Sometimes I wonder if any of you paid attention to the last primary cycle?

Here is what you need to note, the voters did not move toward Romney as each candidate was slimed and dropped out. They moved to the next candidate standing. Romney never had more than 30% of the vote AT MOST and usually when he “won” the early states, he had about 20% of the vote, but he was the anointed one and he had the money and the backing. So, finally, as the winner take all states came into play there really was not anyone left except Ron Paul, and at that point Paul started getting bigger numbers of vote but not enough, so Romney took all the big states — hence he had enough states with a majority of delegates although he never really had the support of the base.

So what you people need to understand, Bush would be doing as Romney did, a small percentage of the votes, and each candidate slimed in turn, running out of money, and withdrawing until only Bush is left, and then because no one is left, he then takes the winner-take-all states, meeting that majority state rule, even if one or another of the candidates does have a large number of delegates.

Do you think for one minute, if Trump was not in the race, Cruz would be? Cruz would be utterly trashed, he would be out of the race by now, Bush would be hanging in there, winning nothing, but forcing the other candidates out, one by one, until only he was left standing. Remember he said he was going to win without winning the primaries.

So at this point, if you do not realize what is happening, if you do not consolidate behind Trump NOW: YOU WILL SEE BUSH AS THE NOMINEE, or possibly Romney. (They are not going to give this to Rubio, they are going to make an issue of his citizenship — as they should!)

That is because they are so delirious they are not seeing the bigger picture.
They actually think a guy who can’t win a single county in some southern states, can’t win s swing state and comes third like VA and trailing in FL and cannot generate any interest in the country outside his base of what 20% is going to win! Give me a frigging break.

Any way you look at it, his candidacy has been disastrous.

Amazing. Trump is the problem, not the corrupt machine he's exposed.
