So far, Trump wins open primaries and Cruz wins closed … (Title Shortened)
The Washington Post ^ | 03-02-16 | By Todd Zywicki

There have been four closed elections: the Iowa caucus, the Nevada caucus, and Super Tuesday’s Oklahoma primary and Alaska caucus. Ted Cruz won three of those four closed elections.

So here’s where it potentially gets interesting. Although the media are looking forward to March 15, this Saturday (March 5) there are four Republican primaries/caucuses: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Maine. All are closed.

I thought gayboy in hiding was one a 1-hour, Castro rant myself.

I wonder just how corrupt he is.

Maybe he’s been promised the Presidency, like 0bama.

I met a guy in the auto-repair place here (Maryland) yesterday and the TV was on FNC and he was just looking for anyone to talk about Trump to.

As he talked more and more he cited the complaint that congress Republicans made all these ‘promises’ in 2014 to ??? Republicans?? Conservatives?? and didnt come thru last year
.....
Like getting a Obamacare repeal past Obama’s veto (and Senate filibuster)

Actually those are Cruz issues, but he said he thinks that Trump can ‘get it done’

On the Dem side one told be he will vote for Trump over Hillary and that most of Trump’s positions, as he sees them, are liberal,

That was Teds problem. He was so desperate to get evangelicals that he kept quoting scripture and now the Dems and the media will put him as a religious nut who can’t even get a senator to endorse him.

“For the 1st time, I watched a bit of Cruz last night. Chez Boots watched. We were shocked at the half truths and outright lies. From Cruz’s own mouth. I was downright disgusted.”
___________________________________________________________

I was watching Cruz a while back and heard him say some flat out lies and half-truths about Trump’s positions. I looked at the television and said...”that’s not true.”

Even my 20-year old daughter, who is very discerning, said Cruz sounded like a phony when she first heard him speak at the first debate. It’s very, very sad.

It’s not just Democrats in open primaries, it’s Independents. Two in my family have gone Independent because they’re sick of Republicans. That’s actually Trump’s base. Many like me have stuck with Republicans to have a say but many Republicans don’t recognize the danger and think it’s business as usual.

Thus, Cruz.

Wow. I didn’t realize Alaska was considered the south. You must have been in Obamas’ geography class.

wonder if part of it is that he has a real eligibility problem being held over his head.

Good point. McConnell, Ryan Priebus and company probably told him they would not bring up the issue if he were able to stop Trump. Just one more sell out to the GOPe.

Something about Christie and Trump. They're real leaders. They can get things going turning things around and cleaning out the DC sewer. All the other stuff doesn't matter if we don't save the United States.

That's not an exaggeration. How many nations have been reduced to rubble, or are well on their way, in these last two administrations?

Open Republican primaries are just more proof the GOP is the stupid party.

You have to be on acid to think open primaries are remotely logical or at all in the party’s best interest.

If 547 more delegates go to the remaining not-Trumps, Trump can’t get enough to secure the nomination outright, we go to a brokered convention, and the uniparty wins. Again.

This is the last chance to break them.

THIS. Trump, even if he is somewhat liberal on some issues, is a FAR CRY from the out-and-out commies on the Dems' side. Putting up with a centrist for four years seems a pretty small price to pay to smash the GOPe who have been paving the way for the leftist takeover of our country thru their self-interested inaction.

Plus I see the crossover votes as the actions of rational, blue collar Dems who have seen the light after these past 8 years of "fundamental transformation." We should welcome them!

Trump’s got an advantage whenever Democrats can help pick the candidate they want to run against.

And Alaska is a safe GOP state in presidential elections.

Cruz has no idea how to create jobs, you don’t just put up a warehouse and have workers assemble a bunch of parts like they do in Russia. Thats his vision, useless fruitless projects that will only make his donors rich.

Trump will build a wall, that will need massive amounts of cement, aggregates, forms, batching plants, delivery vehicles, drivers, mechanics, engineers and security specialists.

Cruz at the most will build just a token flimsy ugly eyesore only in donor rich parts of Texas.

Cruz is all talk, no action umless it makes his donors happy and wealthy, he craves ultimate power.
