Trump-Effect: Fox News Channel’s Brand Takes 50% Hit Among Republicans
Breitbart ^ | February 17, 2016 | by John Nolte

Just last week, a years-long tradition came to a screeching halt. “You want me to put it on Fox News,” I asked my wife. “No,” she replied. “I’m done with Fox News.”

My job is to monitor the mainstream media, which is something that eats up about 14 hours of a day that begins at 6 a.m. when the cable morning shows begin. Lying next to me, my good sport of a wife suffers through about an hour of “Morning Joe,” whatever they call that left-wing garbage fire on CNN, and the rest. Out of habit, before I head to my desk, without really asking I always ask, “You want me to put it on Fox?”

Fox News has a problem, and not just with my wife. According to a YouGov Brand Index survey, the perception of Fox News among Republicans has hit a three-year low, “has declined by approximately 50% since January of this year.”

Basically, perception of Fox News has returned to those bad old Dick Morris days after President Obama won re-election. Much of the fall has come in the last few months. There is no question that this precipitous drop is the result of Fox’s ongoing war with Donald Trump.

This might be a good time to tell you that my wife is not a Trump supporter. Her frustrations and disappointment in Fox News have nothing to do with her personal political preference. Like many, it is something much larger than that.

Fox has never portrayed itself as a conservative media. It’s always claimed to be “fair and balanced.” There really isn’t any conservative media.

I hate to say this...and you’ll probably paint me as weird...but I find nothing attractive or sexy about that lineup.

Kind of scary.

OAN - One America News is the way to go but I have definitely stayed away from FOX. Ironically, MSNBC and CNN treated Trump more factually.

"Where are you getting that litmus from?"

He makes all the right enemies. The people railing hardest against his candidacy are exactly the ones responsible for the mess the country and the party are in. He's gotten them to out themselves in full daylight. Win or lose, he's already performed a priceless public service.

It’s more than that. A week or so ago i was at the gym and it was on the screen in front of me. It was after Trump (Blowhard - NY) called Cruz and/or Rubio a liar. I think it was five of them on some panel sitting around discussing this earth-shaking issue and other such meaningless, trivial nonsense for 30 minutes - who insulted who, what it means, polling people’s reactions to this claptrap, etc. Nothing about issues, policy positions or reality. Fox has become a joke. No different from CNN or the networks.

You nailed it ...they have all outed themselves and it will definitely hurt their ratings, most likely permanently

"Exactly ...FOX is really no different than MSNBC...

I stopped watching Fox about six weeks ago. I could no longer stand their constant, whining, Trump bashing. Since then I've discovered that, strange to say, MSNBC is far more balanced and objective when covering the Republican primary.

Fox News skated for years... they didn't have to put money into foreign correspondents or major city news bureaus BECAUSE they got away with making a slight bow to the people in flyover. We watched them and their barebones offerings because FOX wasn't giving us the finger every 20 minutes.

Now they are... FOX is no different than CNN or MSNBC EXCEPT what they offer is news that bashes us ‘on the cheap’.

Why should we watch that? Every middle aged ‘talent’ has 4 airhead women to fawn over him for a forth of every show? (Only Hannity doesn't partake) It's a joke. We've put up with that crap... for nothing. Even Greta brings in bevies of young men in their thirties to fawn over her. Between O’Reilly and Howard Kurtz the place is creepy with old men and breathless young women.

If they're going to be one more ‘bash Republican’ channel they better put some major money into what they offer because we're NOT going to be loyal to a low quality, barebones, network ‘on the cheap’ that looks down their noses on citizens outside the beltway.

They're elites in waiting? Fine. Put money into the garbage - because you've thrown away our loyalty.

The first time I watched Fox was in 1996 after the Clinton/Dole debate, and I was shocked in a good way, when Shep actually said that they would not try to tell you who won because that is not something they feel they should deiced for you. I must have had Fox on all day after that because it was too good to be true.

I wont even watch a YouTube clip from it today.

No they do not as far as I know. I know OAN does every day mention the immigrants pouring into Europe and does mention the rapes.
Probably the only news network which does.

I am pleased to be FOX and all Alphabet Network/Cable news free since January 20, 2009. Talking heads make me nauseous.

I called it a bulldyke hairdo from the first night she outed herself and several here on FR poo-pooed me and said it was just STYLISH.
Yep, it is; if you’re a bulldyke.

Kelly might be a P.I.T.A. but she was very attractive.

So what are all the different reasons a gorgeous blonde making $10 million a year would make dress down with a bull dyke leather look wardrobe
and a maniish, greaser hairdo?

We didn’t realize how bad Faux News was til we started flipping over to CNN. They suddenly sound almost fair and balanced. LOL!

Isn’t that amazing ... FOX thinks like the GOPe - they think that we are just temporarily off the reservation , and that we’ll be back no matter what ...not me
