Why Trump Survived Every Attack from Rubio and Cruz
Newsweek ^ | 2/25/16 | Matthew Cooper

Posted on 02/25/2016 9:27:48 PM PST by Vision Thing

"If he hadn't inherited $200 million, you know where [Donald] Trump would be? Selling watches in Manhattan."

It was Marco Rubio's big moment, the one that was supposed to damage the GOP front-runner. It wasn't a bad line. The zinger illuminated that Trump wasn't self-made. It made him seem like the avatar of New York's worst values--a street hustler from pre-Giuliani Times Square.

Rubio's riposte got a laugh, but that was it. But he administered his blow too quickly, after a dizzying oppo dump of Trumpian facts--bankruptcies, lawsuits against Trump University, hiring illegal workers and so on. Like a hormonal teenager with control issues, Rubio blurted them out so quickly that the fusillade fell flat.

So, let’s just meet back here after Tuesday and you can tell us again about how bad it was for Trump.

Trump’s dad died in 1999. By that time Donald was worth more than his old man.

So much for him inheriting all his wealth and just coasting.

I didn’t see it, but it sounds like everyone got hammered: Game over, nobody wins. Which means status quo, leaving Trump on top, as he was before the debate.

Like it or not, another poster’s analogy of two rabid Chihuahuas snapping at his ankles works really well.

It just me, but I would think more along the lines of a men’s Chippendale review. He looks swishy to me.

Explain something to me, Johnnie.

Why is it hate to express a negative opinion about Trump?

But love and sanity to be absolutely vicious about Ted Cruz?

Could you explain that to me?

Most of the Chippendale dancers are flaming.

No, not really. Cruz and Rubio didn’t get hammered. A couple of jabs, that’s all. Trump got pounded repeatedly and hard. Carson, as usual, pretty much got ignored.

Cruz got utterly destroyed repeatedly. Biggest knock downs were Trump pointing out Cruz John Roberts support after Cruz just got done posturing as if he was the all wise, all knowing when it came to the Supreme Court and then, after attack Trump on Candidate Contributions walking face first into the Trump’s counter point that Cruz took money from Trump.

Just pathetic how the “professional politicians” who are suppose to be such geniuses at debating ended up looking like petty unready little boys. Clinton would of slaughtered both of them

Trump was calm and cool on the debate stage tonight.

I didn't see the debate, but I'm guessing the Tall Cool One stood out in stark contrast against the shrieking tag team of Crubio.

It was embarrassing for Trump, no substance and he was called numerous times on that. He has no plan for anything and Cruz and Rubio both know this, as do many Americans do. Trump was hammered on everything, he lost big time and could not defend what he has said or supported in the past, Yesterday or today.

I thought I was going to throw up when Trump got so bent out of shape about V. Fox said the F word......what a hypocrite that filthy mouthed Trump is.

Now I have to go Google Trump and the Polish immigrants. does seem as thought he is not in favor of jobs for Americans. what with even the latest in his hotel I Florida hiring immigrants over Americans. What a liar he is. But hey, he's gonna build that danged wall.

How high is that danged wall now. 700ft.? gheeze what and idiot.

While you’re googling Trump and the Polish immigrant workers, also google Trump’s curtrent DC hotel project. It’s being built by illegals.

Google Trump mob concrete.
