"If he hadn't inherited $200 million, you know where [Donald] Trump would be? Selling watches in Manhattan."
It was Marco Rubio's big moment, the one that was supposed to damage the GOP front-runner. It wasn't a bad line. The zinger illuminated that Trump wasn't self-made. It made him seem like the avatar of New York's worst values--a street hustler from pre-Giuliani Times Square.
Rubio's riposte got a laugh, but that was it. But he administered his blow too quickly, after a dizzying oppo dump of Trumpian facts--bankruptcies, lawsuits against Trump University, hiring illegal workers and so on. Like a hormonal teenager with control issues, Rubio blurted them out so quickly that the fusillade fell flat.

Your boy Cruz endorsed Marco Amnestio tonight. Yet still you blindly march on drinking the Kruz-Aid. So now “consistent conservatism” (TM) includes gang of 8 amnesty? Pathetic. Just pathetic.
Why do you claim that I hate Trump? I have always liked him. I think he’s been good for New York.
He’s too much of a progressive for me, however.
Has anyone been to Fox? I’m wondering how obviously Lightweight Journalist Megyn Kelly is swooning over Rubio.
He didn’t endorse Rubio. He’s running himself, after all.
lol!
I thought the author’s allusion to Marco being like a hormonal teenager with control issues was devastating. He hit rubio on his youth and inexperience! :)
It was a joke, son.
Ah say, a joke.
:)
Cruz clearly stated what a great POTUS Amnestio would be. Birds of a feather, stick together.
Sorry, that Cruz own goal is not going to go down the memory hole. Own it all, FRiend.
I don’t go there unless I have to.
No idea how Shut Up Meg! is taking this.
:)
Eeeeee...
It’s sad what people do to themselves. They don’t achieve happiness either.
When and where did he say that? I think what he said was that Rubio is more of a conservative than Trump is, which is likely true.
As I understand it, there’s two tracks. The first is a joint Dad-son project that leads to son having Manhattan and dad having Queens and Brooklyn.
It’s Fred’s money that starts it, then “In 1968 his 22-year-old son Donald Trump joined his company Trump Management Co., becoming president in 1974, and renaming it The Trump Organization in 1980.”
He did well, but basically it was with his father’s money and company.
>>Trump also was upside down about $170 million around 1989/90.
Yep, he didn’t really do well then.
>>>The guy turned it around.
In a pretty sleezy way, but yeah.
>>> it’s not accurate to refer to his inheritance as his way to riches.
I disagree. He would not have had the wealth to build more wealth to get in debt to a huge amount that allowed him to leverage that debt, as a threat, to manage his way out leaving others screwed.
I do admire the guy. Sincerely in a lot of regards. But he’s not a rags to riches story by any stretch.
The ladies in the front were probably happy, not knowing it was really kielbasa.
;D
I’m no Trump fan, but it was unwise of Rubio to go there. I saw bio piece on Trump’s father, and he was a remarkable guy. Its not smart to try and insult a person in a way that will just lead more people to discover his background. Net-net, it’s pretty positive, i must admit.
Problem with that, for Cruz, Cruz was slamming him for giving out money to ding bats. LOL
Can’t get any better!
Your pal Trump lies about every damn thing — whether it’s his $1 million fine for hiring illegals, reading the Bible more than anyone else in the world, or Cruz still being in Nevada. He’s a liar — and I love folks like you defending him. It shows where you are at.
His children have proven to be hard workers as well.
Thanks for the links...because you just caught yourself in a CRuznadian-style whopper.
Like I said, it wasn’t on Morning Joe with Scarborough and Mika, where the mandate was even discussed. As your own links prove, and like I tried explaining to you, the word mandate came up on CNN with Anderson Cooper. Trump was talking over Anderson Cooper, who brought up mandate.
Your strike two was that you failed to post what Trump actually said/believes about the mandate. Trump truths are tough for you, I know....so, I’ll once again help you out and post the link for you, on that....

AGAIN, TBP.....TRUMP IS NOT FOR ANY SORT OF MANDATE. SO PLEASE STOP POSTING THAT CRUZNADIAN-STYLE WHOPPER.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Literally word for word like I had said it myself. Cheers!
