Rick Scott officially being floated as a potential VP choice for Donald Trump
Florida Politics ^ | 2-23-2016 | Mitch Perry

On Monday, Rick Scott said he wasn’t ready to endorse in the Florida Presidential Primary election on March 15, but there are those who believe he might be leaning towards Donald Trump.

That speculation was sparked last month, when Scott penned an op-ed in USA Today, a column in which he wrote very favorably about the New York City business mogul.

I know Donald Trump personally, and while I currently have no plans to endorse a candidate before Florida’s March presidential primary, there is no doubt that Donald is a man who speaks and tweets his mind freely. But I don’t think his ability to give the most interesting interviews or speeches is the only thing that has him leading in the polls. I think he is capturing the frustration of many Americans after seven years of President Obama’s very intentional government takeover of the U.S. economy.

The quiet speculation broke out in the open on Tuesday, when The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza listed Scott on a short-list of possible vice presidential candidates that Trump might be contemplating as he continues to roll through the Republican primary and caucus calendar.

Like Trump, Scott was a lifelong nonpolitician until he opted to run for governor in 2010. Like Trump, Scott made a fortune in the private sector.

He is the scumbag governor who allowed the Trayvon Martin crap to go on, even when it was clear the the prosecution was suppressing exculpatory evidence.

Scott has been an exceptional governor and has excelled in the face of mind-boggling animus from the press and a constant barrage of lies from the left.

Even so, he presents the wrong optics for a national race and his time at Columbia/HCA would become the only talking point the national media would talk about.

I'd rather see Allen West than Rick Scott if Trump wants someone from Florida. West is military, which Trump adores, and might finally break out as a role model for African-Americans who are finally ready to cross over to vote for Trump.

What about some financials guy, like Larry Kudlow?

I know, I know. He was SDS when in his school days. But I don’t care about the crap “oh, he was a commie/democrat in 1969!” stuff. I am living right now. And this guy know finances et all.

Or what about Giuliani? I know, I know. RINO.

But... really less so these days. I want a financials person or someone who is on good terms with our police. Any ideas of who fits one of these two genres? Whoever it is, I want a tough cookie, not some whimpy.

Self-promotion by a GOPe insider.

Huh, you think Scott is a GOP insider? He was never a politician until he ran for governor. The insiders banded together to support McCollum but the TEA Party prevailed. Scott never waivered from his conservative agenda even when his own party came after him. If Scott is an insider, there are no outsiders.

I stand corrected on Rick Scott's pedigree, and thank you. Don't know the guy or how well he's commanded the power of the office, and it is uncharitable of me to assume he's a party-man, or even self-serving.

That would make sense for many reasons. Maybe get TX sewed up in the general election. Sorry to point this out but Abbot is in a wheelchair so deflects criticism from some points. He is a smart person on his own right would he want to be a Trump VP?

I am a Cruz supporter but I think Trump could nail the nomination just by floating or even mentioning that he would consider the following:

Scott Walker - VP
Sen Cruz - SCOTUS
Carson - Surgeon General
Gulliani - Attorney General
Palin - Sec Interior
Rand - Sec Treasury
Bolton - Sec State

He’s been through hell. He’s one tough man and I wish more conservatives were like him. He’s made it clear he wants to run for the US Senate when his term is over so I don’t give much credence to this story. Who knows? I do hope he runs, and wins, so he can continue driving the media and liberals nuts.

No.

I didn’t say I liked the idea, just that it looks very possible.

Right now, I don’t like any of them. Don’t know how I’m voting next week.

Scott was targeted by the Clinton justice dept because he was an opponent of Hillarycare. Trump won’t like him any more than Hillary.

I can’t imagine anyone being so stupid as to vote for Hillary. But then, Obama was voted in, twice.
Qualified is the key and frankly, I can’t think of a single woman qualified to be president of the united States. not at this time, anyway. Whenever the right one comes along with the necessary qualifications, okay. But I am not going to vote for an inferior person just because she is a woman.
