et's say you're driving down the street and someone rear-ends you. You get out of your car to assess the damage. The person who hit your vehicle gets out of his car, apologizes for the damage and calls his insurance company. Eventually, you receive a check for the harm done.
Now, let's say that for years, if not generations, your family and families like yours have been damaged by your country's political and economic system -- by law and widespread practice, with the intent of benefiting families not like yours -- then the checks for the harm done would be called reparations.

Every time you try to point out the payments being paid to blacks on welfare they scream “well there are more whites than blacks on welfare”, which is true.
But considering there are 8 times as many whites in the country, and NOT 8 times as many whites on welfare, the proportions need to be examined a different way than a strict number comparison.
What percentage of the total population of blacks is on welfare, and what percentage of whites is on welfare.
Someone did the math and it turns out it is 42% of all blacks, and 8 percent of all whites.
So... that is a DISGUSTING AND SHAMEFUL amount, and NOW THEY WANT ‘REPERATIONS’ TOO?????
Most of the staunchest abolitionists were preachers. Take Henry Ward Beecher, for example.
Instead of being grateful for living in the country that ENDED SLAVERY in the modern world, they demand reparations? When 42% of all blacks sit on their ass receiving welfare?
Want to start a black/white civil war that will virtually wipe our the black population in the US? Reparations would be a great way to start one.

After 8 years of Obama white people deserve reparations.
Reparations have already been paid. They’ve been paid in the form of Affirmative Action, Government contract set-asides to black owned businesses, minority scholarships, government backed mortgage programs, and corporate grants to organizations such as the Urban League, NAACP, and the United Negro College Fund. Reparations have been paid many times over.

Now if far too large a segment of the former slaves ancestors could stop killing each other over “respect”, Nike’s and Rims, maybe you might be able to leverage it into something other than disgracing your ancestors pain.
They have already received billions of dollars in welfare and ebt (reparation) money. If THEY are willing to pay it back, we should pay reparations to any living people who were slaves—that would be 40 acres and a mule)

I think the Democrat Party should be immediately banned, and all Democrat Party assets, as well as the personal assets of all Democrat Party voters and politicians, should be seized, confiscated and paid to black people as reparations.
You do understand correctly. But then it’s not really about slavery, is it? Except for whiteys’, of course.

I am opposed to reparations for all the right reasons. But if it is ever done it would be easy to administer.
The federal government has the authority to mandate a bifurcated price control system on all goods and services. People determined to be white would pay a higher price for all goods and services - maybe 25-35 percent higher.
If gasoline for normal people cost $2.00 per gallon, whites would pay $2.70. Bread, milk, electricity, housing, medicines - same thing. The practical effect would be to increase the standard of living for normal people and lower the standard of living for disfavored whites.
This system would be transparent and easy for federal police to enforce.
If you don’t think the federal government has the authority to implement such a system, look it up in our living, breathing constitution.
Huffington Post columnist Julia Craven’s attempt to highlight White-on-White crime backfired when she used murder stats that proved Blacks are almost fifteen times more likely to kill other Blacks than Whites are to kill other Whites.
What about the thousands of blacks who owned slaves?
Blacks would like us to believe that only whites were the evil slave owners. In fact, there were many whites who owned no slaves and thousands of blacks who did. There were 3,000 black slave owners in New Orleans alone. Why would their descendants be exempt?

If reparations must be paid, they should be paid by THOSE WHO BROUGHT SLAVERY TO THIS CONTINENT IN THE FIRST PLACE, NOT the current residents.
Go talk to the Dutch, Spanish, Mandingo tribal leaders, etc... THOSE folks were the ones who instituted slavery here.
We AMERICANS are the ones who ended it. They should be thanking us.
By ending slavery in the "modern world" you of course mean the West. Because slavery still goes on to this day in many parts of the world, such as Africa and the Middle East.
I thought that was what the EBT cards were, reparations.
