Now, let's say that for years, if not generations, your family and families like yours have been damaged by your country's political and economic system -- by law and widespread practice, with the intent of benefiting families not like yours -- then the checks for the harm done would be called reparations.

Now, compare those figures to the average life expectancy and annual per capita income for African Americans in the U.S.
What you'll find is that, generally, there's about 30 years more life expectancy at almost 10 times the per capita income.
THERE'S your reparations. If it wasn't for the enslavement of your ancestors, you wouldn't have had the opportunity to live the life you live at the income level you do have today. Their sacrifice has turned into an incredible opportunity for their descendents, relative to the life they would have had, had there not been slavery.

Hell most of them can’t even name 3 countries let alone know where their ancestors come from, and they certainly have no idea it was blacks rounding up blacks and selling them into slavery to over here.

Like hell. I did nothing to any Black person. I condemned slavery. I did not have slaves. It’s irrelevant whether my ancestors had slaves, but they didn’t. The entire country benefited financially from the unpaid, forced labor of unwilling human beings. All benefited, including present-day Blacks. So go to hell with your reparations!

Good point. Burns me up that the race hustlers are working to penalize the white race for actions done to their ancestors, while at the same time demanding that the members of their race alive today not be held responsible for their actions.

Sorry, but my family did not arrive in America until the late 1880s/early 1900s and lived in the North where there weren;t any Jim Crow laws. I shouldn’t have to pay s**t!!
That's not the way it works any more in most states. Your own insurance pays for the damage, not the other guy's. That's because the new way eliminates costly litigation, making the total cost to society much less.
There was an equally defining change to the situation concerning slavery. It was called the Civil War. My great-uncle, a 19 year old immigrant who couldn't even speak English, died in that war in order to end slavery. Neither I, nor any of my ancestors participated in owning slaves, nor have I ever participated in any of these so-called "widespread practices" I'm accused of in this whine. I owe reparations to no one. I'm still waiting for the reparations owed to my great-uncle. We never even got his final pay check. It would be worth several million dollars by now.
If it were not for slavery to her ancestors which was awful I might add, then she would not be here writing utter crap and living in a nice house, making good money etc.
