Trump to Confederate flag: You're fired! (2015)
Politico ^ | 06/23/15 | Adam B. Lerner

When asked whether he supported South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s decision to call for the Confederate battle flag to be taken down from out front of the State Capitol building, Trump said he did.

“I would take it down, yes,” the billionaire real estate mogul said. “I think they should put it in a museum and respect whatever it is you have to respect.”

Then, when asked what woman he would like to see on the new $10 bill, he responded — to laughter — “My mother.”

The questions came after Trump spoke outside his Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. There, Trump reiterated his offer to let President Obama play on the course, but said he hasn’t yet heard back from the White House.

“America did do the Negro peoples dirty.”

Yes. But America, in my estimation, has made up for it.

Whole populations have been enslaved all throughout history, and never had that kind of ending.

It was basically the British who ended slavery. Their law was, if a ship, of any nation, containing slaves were found on the open seas, the ship was confiscated and the captain and crew were immediately hanged. That eradicated the slave trade.

I apologize for using juvenile language, and I hope ncpatriot forgives me.

Point taken regarding some with more time than others. Make no mistake my goal is to retain and restore, not entropy and separation because it’s all filled with good people.

Last time I checked, the United States of America had ONE flag representing its UNITED STATES.

An appropriate memorial is that very same UNITED STATES flag.

You are WRONG, sir. Those men DIED under a CONFEDERATE FLAG for what they believed, the USA flag was the ENEMY flag. Saying they died under the UNITED STATES Flag is re-writing history.

Apology accepted. It has been difficult here recently, and everywhere, really. I don’t believe that I have ever experienced such a hotly debated election.

It’s nice to see you again sweetie :)

Sad it’s mudslinging that brought us together again...

Take care, and God Bless ;^)

I’m not rewriting history — I’m memorializing it.

There were others before the confederate one, and the one immediately coming to mind said ‘UNITE OR DIE.’

In some very interesting ways, Trump has become the Confederate flag.

It’s just unfortunate some subliminals on FR can’t see that.

Trump is upending the establishment in Washington, D. C., and we can see the reaction of those who are loyal to it. Oh they’ll find plenty of excuses for this, but at the end of the day what they want to happen is another government insider tasked with fixing the problem of government insiders.

“But he’s perfect I tell ya!”

He’s a guy with his own checkered past, a liar like all the rest, and leading perhaps the biggest mud slinging efforts I’ve ever seen. On top of this the man has exhibited no leadership skills in his life, except now with his lying corrupt campaign staff and some of the most flawed thinkers I’ve ever seen. Ex: None of this has dawned on them.

Pardon the interruption.

Back to trashing today’s Confederate.

Opposed to the federal government cabal?

There was a time when all of us were.

Now a “special” group of dumplings have gone wobbly. Actually change the status quo? Oh, well, wait a minute...

Pussies!

The British could not end slavery from the stock of Negros in the USA.

It’s going to take a new private-sphere gospel awareness to bring blessing back to America. No president could do that, although some kinds of presidents can make it easier for the Christian church to come into its own.

I believe Trump represents an oxymoronic humbling of “Christianized” America. He isn’t there going rah-rah for incorporating Christianity into the government. And this is a very important tenet, because God never asked for it. Trump is strictly for what is practical at a secular level. I don’t want Caesar to impose Christianity any more than I would want the DMV to run my church. Now, my church will have a fighting chance to show the world that it worships a supernatural Savior who bestows supernatural blessings.

Trump has been paying lip-service to Christianity. As you state, he’s not for directing religion, but freeing it up to flourish as it can and should.

He addresses the issue of “Christmas”, and I think it’s far more than a charming thing to promise. It represents a respect for Christianity, our customs, and our traditions.

It hearkens back to better times when our culture was treasured. It’s about time!

And this seems to be a difficult thing for some people to believe. That getting Caesar out of the Christianity “business” (although keeping his Romans 13 role as a bully pulpit for what is good) is just what Christianity needs to show the whole world that it is much more than the “plain vanilla” of religion.

The idea that things should be any other way dates back to only a few hundred years into the early church.

Caesar offered his unmanageable kingdom up on a silver platter to the Christian church. The proper response should have been to offer advisors (as Daniel and others were in the Old Testament) but to also point out that the church was given to govern a heavenly kingdom and could not ever take over the operations of Caesar, this was not in the charter. The church presumed to be too much, and ironically became too little.

It’s interesting to note what Christianity looks like to people who aren’t citizens of “Christianized” countries.

Quite often, it gets more respect than it does in “Christianized” countries.

I have been beginning to share the Lord with some H1B Indians, and the Lord has made this very easy for me, with a charm and blessing thrust. Hindu faith is an interesting system because it is open to worshiping just about any deity, even though it has its own set of deities. This is a side door for Jesus Christ that a lot of people miss. Once Jesus is encountered in worship, even by polytheists, His nature more or less quickly becomes apparent.
