Several Republican presidential campaigns have labeled Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign as dishonest -- and now a Cruz supporter says he agrees.
C. Steven Tucker, a member of Cruz's Illinois leadership team, told the Washington Examiner he could not stay silent about the falsehoods repeatedly uttered by the senator on the campaign trail. Specifically, Tucker takes issue with Cruz's comments about Donald Trump's ideas on healthcare.
"Senator Cruz's quotes are very salacious and incorrect. He says if you vote for Donald Trump, you vote for Bernie Sanders-style socialized medicine; Trump, Clinton, Sanders have identical positions on healthcare," Tucker said. "That is absolutely, 100 percent not true."
Politifact agrees with Tucker and rated Cruz's claim as "false."

Both Tucker and Ben Carson are angling for jobs with Trump. Ragging on Cruz demonstrates their willingness to do and say anything for Trump.
A sad commentary when your own people admit you are a liar. I said yesterday that IMO Cruz has started the slide into the long goodbye.
Sounds like he’s splitting hairs to me.
Trump changes his positions as often as he changes his socks.
That comment suggests that many Cruz supporters would come over to Trump.
“In this day and age- with internet at most peoples fingertips- amazes me that politicians still think they can do a half truth or out right lie and not be called on it.”
Indeed. The old campaign ways are dead. Lying and dirty tactics don’t work any more because the truth instantly blooms forth on a thousand web sites, and the media is actually starting to cover this kind of information obtained from formerly obscure Internet sources. Plus itâs far too easy for individual voters to simply google the truth for themselves, consult multiple social media sources and contacts, etc., etc.
And then came Trump. Blew everything up. Took Ted's ideas and expanded on them by correctly gauging the anger in the country.
But his track record of giving money to left-wing socialist anti-American democrats is hard to overcome.
Would've been a nice wall.....
Example of Ted’s lies of omission, seven lies and misrepresentations in under three minutes. That is walking the talk “the most principled conservative I the race”???
Lie 1 - Pro-abortion and supporting partial birth abortion.

Lie 2 - Trump is calling for the same socialized medicine as Sanders

Lie 3 - pushed partial birth abortion

Lie 4 - Even as a candidate Donald says we need to have full on socialized medicine

Lie 5 - at the debates he said we ought to have socialized medicine like Canada and Scotland.

Lie 6 - If you as a republican don’t support socalized medicine you are heartless.

Lie 7 - If you want to see Bernie sanders style of socialized medicine Trump is your guy

“Right now we need our own Son of a Bitch glorious bastard, faults and all”
precisely.
>>Nobody was âdying in the streetsâ before Obama care and that was never the claimed reason for any of it.
Because theycould walk into an ER and get free care. Then, I would walk in with my health insurance and pay $8 for a Tylenol and $500 to “be seen” by a doctor that I never saw, but he and three others did look at my chart (at $500 apiece) so I could get a PA to stitch up my hand (for $2800).
I have health care insurance from work, but contrary to public opinion, it is not “ employer-paid”. Those premiums are part of my compensation package. So the increase in premiums due to indigent care lower my paycheck.
So I pay for it either way.
And then came Trump. Blew everything up. Took Ted’s ideas and expanded on them by correctly gauging the anger in the country.

I believe it is a mistake to accuse Trump of taking Ted’s ideas when Trump has been writing books, 12 so far, and highlighting things like The Wall and other issues in some of his books published 5-16 years ago.

Repeating this inaccuracy against Trump doesnât seem to be persuading people.
You’re right. It isn’t. That’s what I’m afraid of.
You are full of it. The very point of this thread is Trump’s recent quotes on health care - and you completely ignore it. You contradict none of it - just say it’s a lie.
You’re the one doing the lying.
Yes. So why are you defending Trump’s claimed position that is nothing but more federal government intervention into our health care? The top down management of it.
Like all good leftest, the last guy didn’t know what he was doing, but I’ll make it work, trust me... I’m smarter than those guys...
Yet it is the very premise that is wrong with top down management of everything - just like all forms of socialism.
Trump says he’ll cover preexisting conditions.
How is that really possible if you don’t have a mandate forcing people to buy health insurance? Hey my house just burned down and I didn’t carry fire insurance, but hey I’ll buy it now and get my house rebuilt...
We do pay either way - for those of us who actually pay for our health care. Nothing Trump is proposing will lower the cost of providing access to health care to the poor.
Care to explain how Trump will cover preexisting conditions, like he says he will, without forcing people to buy insurance like Obama care does? Otherwise there’s no real point to buying insurance if they have to cover you after the fact. In fact it isn’t even “insurance” anymore after the fact.
The primary focus needs to be on lowering the cost. Having free market McDonald’s of health care so to speak. You can only do that with less government, not more. A different flavor of big government won’t fix it either.
I pay about 34k a year in health insurance for a family of four.
“THAT is socialism too, whether itâs government doing it or a not...”
No, it’s only socialism when the government does it, by definition.
You can’t have it both ways.
He said he was going to cover preexisting conditions.
You cannot actually do that without a mandate. A mandate that forces you to buy insurance. It is why Obama care has a mandate. Without it, few would buy insurance for serious illness if they have to take you after the fact.
Hey now, pre-existing misconceptions are covered under the mandate!
