Trump Could Win It All
US News ^

So if Donald Trump proved the political universe wrong and won the Republican presidential nomination, he would be creamed by Hillary Clinton, correct?

A new survey of likely voters might at least raise momentary dyspepsia for Democrats since it suggests why it wouldn't be a cakewalk.

The survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytics is a combination online questionnaire and "dial-test" of Trump's first big campaign ad among 916 self-proclaimed "likely voters" (this video shows the ad and the dial test results). It took place primarily Wednesday and Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they'd cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they'd vote for Clinton. When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are "100 percent sure" of switching than the Republicans.

Long way to go-but Hillary is horrible, and it should only get worse for her
as this year unfolds.

Pull the Iowa out of dry dock and sail it up the Potamac.

Trump would put Hillary in her place in the debates. Men will love it. Women who hate other women who are shrill harpies will love it. Young people will love it. Liberals will overwhelm ERs with their triggering and fainting. The GOPe will be openly rooting for Hillary, finally fully exposed.

It will be glorious.

14 percent, of Republicans claim they'd vote for Clinton.

Ah, yes, bitter Jeb supporters and those who booed Trump during the debates.

I know connected Republicans who claim this type of thing right now. Most of them would never actually do it... the ones who actually would are keeping the wrong company and should try not to let the door hit them in the rear on their way out.

What’s funny, is that she is given so much stature by the media.

Trump will strip that away in hours.

She’s never seen a hurricane like Trump before.

Can’t wait.

Any US Presidential candidate that states his support for the resumption of waterboarding will automatically get the attention of the leaders of our “non-allies”. I can’t argue with that. If DJT winds up as our nominee, I will enthusiastically support him. I still prefer Cruz.

Agreed. Cruz is a good solid conservative and very sharp and quite courageous...he is my first choice. Trump is not really conservative but at least he loves the country (which makes him far preferable than Clinton and Sanders who hold our country in contempt).

I hope that the Trump and Cruz camps don't keep bashing on each other.

Agree. I hate the Trump/Cruz war. Like Batman fighting Robin!

Hoping Cruz is Trump’s SCOTUS pick. 40 years of him on there would be great.
