Ohio Gov. John Kasich will not be campaigning in Nevada prior to the Republican caucuses on Tuesday. His campaign lists a series of events in Virginia and Georgia, but none in Nevada, in the last 72 hours before Republicans vote there.
Kasich is currently running fifth in Nevada, but is technically in fourth after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush dropped out after a disappointing result in South Carolina on Saturday evening. He is also fourth in Virginia, however, and fifth in Georgia, behind Dr. Ben Carson, among candidates who are still in the presidential race. So it is not clear why Kasich is avoiding Nevada in particular, where he still maintains an active campaign organization.
Carson is still campaigning in Nevada Sunday and Monday, despite running in last place among candidates still running.
With Bush's departure, Kasich is the last "establishment" candidate still standing in the GOP contest, and is likely looking ahead to the "SEC primary" on Super Tuesday, Mar. 1, as his best chance to make a mark on the race.

Glad Kasich is staying in to keep Rubio’s numbers down.

LOLWAT?
He folded holding aces and eights, he was a dead man.
I think Kaisch is in better shape than Rubio at this point.
I think he picks up some of the Bush votes AND he doesn’t have to win a primary so much as show well. Rubio has to win at least three of the Super Tuesday primaries or he is in big trouble. If he finishes third in most of them he is gone.
Kasich looks to be running for a VP slot at this point.
Trump/Kasich or Cruz/Kasich might have some traction. Trump/Rubio or Cruz/Rubio is a losing proposition

The Kasich Campaignâs Next Moves
Mass, VT, Michigan
Do you have the latest poll numbers from Nevada
My governor, John Kasich, singed a bill today to defund Planned Parenthood here in Ohio. Head will be exploding from the libs. OF course, he is liberal on some issue, but not on this one.
I don’t think Trump will pick any of the current (or former) Republican candidates as his running mate, with the possible exception of Carly Fiorina.
Despite their having had a bit of bad blood between them, she’s actually a good match, as far as what he’ll need in a VP. They’ve actually got quite a bit in common, if you look at it.
I use HuffPost pollster. They are more honest than RCP who picks and chooses what they include.

Did Fiorina drop out yet...I haven’t heard anything?

Fiorina also went after PIAPS really hard. She was actually second choice for a while. There are people that don’t like her but she would work. I think that John Bolton and Allen West might also be choices to think about.
Trump already stated late last week that he would be looking for someone with a tremendous amount of political experience as his VP....
Carly doesn’t fit it but Newt does....
I was wondering when he would drop out.
Carly packed it in on Feb 10.
Is this for real or are we being Cruzed?
What, are we pretending now that Rubio isn’t an “Establishment candidate”—while the Establishment now has all their chips on him?
“With Bush’s departure, Kasich is the last “establishment” candidate still standing in the GOP contest”
When did Rubio drop out?
Kasich would be a hellacious sellout on the Trump ticket.
