The Republican presidential campaigns furiously traded accusations of dirty tricks Saturday as voters cast their ballots in South Carolina.
Front-runner Donald Trump started the finger-pointing early, just before 9 a.m., when he slammed Ted Cruz as a "lowlife" politician for alleged robocalls.
"Lying #TED Cruz just (on election day) came out with a sneak and sleazy Robocall," Trump tweeted. "He holds up the Bible but in fact is a true lowlife pol!"
That was just the beginning. Marco Rubio's campaign released a statement calling on Cruz to repudiate calls suggesting Rubio is dropping out. "These calls are false, malicious, and beneath the dignity of all South Carolinians," Rubio senior adviser Joe Pounder said. "Because of his track record in spreading such false rumors as he did in Iowa, Senator Cruz should immediately repudiate these calls."

Cruz will apologize for the calls tomorrow.
One thing that I have learned through bitter experience is that dirty tricks often get the desired results. The downside is that when the trickster actually succeeds they are almost always a terrible disappointment to their followers later. Not that this resembles anyone in the current campaign. /s

I’m quickly losing my respect for Rubio ..... he should elevate his campaign above the name calling/evidenceless bashing of Donald Trump.
Especially when his campaign also distributed the CNN tweet that Cruz did in Iowa!
Can they prove it came from Cruz—I really don’t think he would be that stupid. Sounds more like a group trying to put the blame on Cruz a counter Cruz group.

Odds are no, because if there was any calls it would of been made by Trump or Rubio people (or those that support them on the sly) to just make up the lie that Cruz is doing it.
I’ve received hundreds of robo-calls. This is just a normal practice. Why is Trump whining?
