NY Post ^ | 2/19/16 | By Shawn Cohen and Jamie Schram

A cancer surgeon with a God complex boasted that her job saving lives made her far superior to the lowly NYPD officers who hauled her away in cuffs for hitting a cop with her car in Midtown, prosecutors said Friday.

“I am a doctor. I have patients who are dying. I’m the hero; the cops are not!” Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, told police when she was arrested for striking an officer’s leg with her Volvo on Thursday to avoid a parking ticket, prosecutors said at her arraignment.

You are absolutely correct.

Postscript. One day she came into work late, and announced she was leaving . . . just like that. They had to send her stuff, including her framed diplomas, to her, by UPS.

A very intelligent woman, but obviously, something was missing.

I think this is MD values...I’m told the difference between doctors and God is that God doesn’t think he’s a doctor.

And who really wants someone that is “Practicing” medicine?

Boy, she did have a break there didn’t she.

That’s too bad. All that educational success, and yet translating it into the real world was a hurdle too high for her.

I know this will sound sexist, but she needs the right guy to complete her. She needs someone who can relate to her and the children.

I think that would patch her up good to go, but what do I know?

Take care. Thanks for the conversation.

“I think what it boils down to, is this concept that some longer educated people have, that a few more years of schooling somehow gifts them with 100 extra points of IQ.”

I work with people who write their name with several “titles” after their name on LinkedIn who don’t have the common sense and/or critical thinking skills of at least 1/2 of my middle school graduating class - when they graduated from middle school, over forty years ago.

“And who really wants someone that is “Practicing” medicine?”

Q: What do you call the doctor who graduated at the bottom of their medical school class?

A: Doctor.

LOL, I’ve seen that too.

I once knew a kid that was very bright. Couldn’t get along with anyone. He because a professional student. He was still going to school approaching or even a little in excess of thirty.

If you asked the guy to tighten a screw, he would be totally lost.

Even simple things are sometimes very challenging for very smart people. The right mix is important I think.

There are a lot of “Doctors” that have a God complex to be sure. To some extent I can’t blame them for taking an authoritative stance when dealing with people that are clueless about their own health and actually want to be told what to do.

A good doctor needs to measure the patients intelligence and their emotional needs to “solve” the issue together.

Sadly, many doctors have found it easier to assert their authority.
