‘I’m The Hero!’: Surgeon Allegedly Rams Car Into Cop After ‘Assault’

A cancer surgeon with a God complex boasted that her job saving lives made her far superior to the lowly NYPD officers who hauled her away in cuffs for hitting a cop with her car in Midtown, prosecutors said Friday.

“I am a doctor. I have patients who are dying. I’m the hero; the cops are not!” Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, told police when she was arrested for striking an officer’s leg with her Volvo on Thursday to avoid a parking ticket, prosecutors said at her arraignment.

My dad was a police officer. He always said the absolute worst professions of people to pull over were Doctors. Followed by teachers. He figured it was something to do with them used to always being the ones telling others what to do, and judging others.

Witnesses said her claims of police brutality were fabricated.

She was screaming like she was being killed, and that wasnt the case, said David Kenefick, 55, of Caldwell, NJ, who works construction. They werent being overly aggressive. She got crazy.

She didnt act like a doctor. She acted like a moron. Shes an idiot.

Another witness, George Williams, 50, of The Bronx, said: All the cops were doing is giving her a ticket. And shes yelling, ‘Help me, please!God, help me!Im being harassed. And she was not being harassed.

Wellner, who received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth in 1997, begged The Post on Thursday to withhold her name for fear she would lose her job.

Montefiore officials have declined to comment.
