Politics makes strange bedfellows, as the saying goes, but maybe itâs not so strange that the anti-war loony left group Code Pink praised Donald Trumpâs embrace of their âBush Lied, People Diedâ mantra in the South Carolina debate. Trumpâs comments that President George W. Bush deliberately sent Americans to their deaths based on a lie and knew 9/11 was coming and did nothing fits Code Pinkâs alternate universe. Trumpâs character assassination of the last Republican President should disqualify him from being the next one.

I already said there's no way to prove whether Bush lied or not, short of Bush coming out and admitting to it. Trump is speculating. All the arguments about the war are water under the bridge. It's done, it's still unpopular, and being against it won't hurt Trump.
As far as Code Pink goes, agreeing with a few of their talking points isn't the same as signing up for their whole agenda. I for one never supported them, they were obviously unhinged. But I was never confident in the Bush administration's panglossian plans for democracy in the middle east.
Rude, crude Trump's simple plan to invade and take their oil is far nore realistic. That would cut islamic terror off at the knees.
Guess I took your previous post entirely wrong. Appologies extended.
MaxFlint, it isn’t just some issue Code Pink and Donald Trump agree with such as some kind of money policy, this is a basic fundamental characterization of something very important to me that Trump is echoing.
Sure, it is a hot button for me, and I admit it, and there are many who would shrug their shoulders about it, but to me, it goes to the core of the issue that started with 3000 dead American civilians and ended up with an occupying American military force, thousands who died and were wounded to get there, and the money spent to do it.
You can see I view it differently than some.
What we end up with in these next short weeks is what we’ll have to go with and hope for the best. There are pluses and minuses on both sides, arguably, but nonetheless they are there.
I just want us to be united in the aftermath and to show our blue and white faces and turn our asses to the enemy after that with a war cry that will make the other side cringe in fear.
It's fair to say that Trump is a critic of Bush's policies in the middle east. It's not fair to lump him in with the most rabid, anti-American left wing loonies who opposed Bush. Trump is coming at this from a right wing pragmatic position, while Code Pink is part of the "no blood for oil" anti-western left.
This is obvious when you look at Trump's policy, which suggests that oil is the only thing in the middle east worth shedding blood for.
I don’t thing Bush the Younger invaded Iraq the 2nd time for personal, or associates gain. I believe it was continuation of a failed ME destabilization policy. Lied, or mislead is about the same difference with regard to results. Did April Gilaspie mislead, or lie?
WTF are you talking about?
>> Carson: child molester
>> Cruz: liar
>> GWB: liar
Well, you gotta realize that Cruz is not just a plain old run-of-the-mill “liar” — but rather, he’s “the worst liar” Trump has ever seen.
So I guess we’re supposed to conclude that George W’s “lies” about WMD in Iraq weren’t so bad after all, even tho’ these “lies” may have cost the lives of 3000+ US soldiers. Or not?
Ho hum. Just another day on the Trumpster Trail.
Lost already eh?
Could be.
But so far, the ranks of the Trumpastic true believers seem to be only about a third of the likely GOP primary voters, with the latter being maybe 30% to 35% of American voters in total.
Do those percentages translate into something like a majority for the General Election?
Very hard for me to imagine.
A false prophet with a history of false profits!
But let's not mention Trump Vodka, Trump Steaks, Trump University, Trump Airlines, The Trump Taj Mahal, The Trump Plaza Hotel, etc.
Any reference to those false profits wouldn't be kind, wouldn't be prudent.
>> about a third is all that Trump is going to pull. Just like nutjob Perot <<
Agreed, except that Perot got “only” 19%. I’d say that’s close to what Trump might get if he runs as an Indie.
But if he gets the ‘Pub nomination, and if the Dhims come to their senses and nominate Biden, I guess Trumpf might get a “Goldwaterish” 38%
“Trash talking has turned me off to the Trumpster.”
Sorry to say it, but that’s not very reasonable. To vote against somebody because they have the stones to call a scumbag a scumbag is not wise.
Generally, it’s only drooling leftard morons (but I wax redundant) who go on about “tone” and “civility,” and then only to distract from discussion of issues.
Nonsense usually has that effect on me.
Then your initial comment in your head had you lost already.
I could tell, and that’s why I called you on it.
See post 44 for an explanation of what they are doing:

After all these years of fighting to prevent the Doles, McCains, Romney’s, Christies et. al. (all Ann Coulter’s choices) from getting the nomination, we just hand it to this ilk and blindly back Trump.
We’re living in bearded Spock land.
Songs From Code Pink is one of my favorite albums
Sure it’s a shame that Robbie Robertson and Levon Helm were never able to reconcile.
Oh....wait.....
Hank
Of course they don't, stop being an imbecile.
