Ahhhhh. So THAT'S the problem.
Good article. Thank you for posting it.
The hypocrisy is strong with this one.
His own words and actions need to be used against him.
Thank you
Once again O will hand the R's an excellent opportunity to convincingly demonstrate to the nation they have a backbone. That could be accomplished with very little effort, so if its ultimately a close call it will not impress anyone.
The nation can have its street fight in the halls of Congress on this question (which bears directly on the 5/4 status of the 2dA), or not, but it will have its street fight.
But, as this process gets underway will Republicans remind people of Obama and Democrat opposition to conservative judges?
will the media recount the circuses of the Bork and Clarence Thomas hearings?
will the media report any of this, or just ooooh and aaaaahh over the sterling qualifications of whoever Obama puts forth? And especially if that person is a member of a minority group never before represented on the court???
Will the media simply parrot the party line that the president has this constitutional obligation to nominate people to the Supreme Court, and that “advice and consent” of the Senate means that the Senate is supposed to confirm the nominee?????
will there be charges of racism and bigotry if the nominee is a member of some recognized minority grievance group and is rejected? Will the media carry the message that the rejection was due to bigotry, not due to any other reason???
