Is Donald Trump in trouble? After facing hostile questions from Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Wednesday night--they comprehensively laid out his flip-flops, presented him with damning videotape, and asked him to explain the inconsistencies in detail--Trump was confronted by hostile audience members at MSNBC's televised town-hall forum. When a Muslim questioner got up to ask why he had said such bigoted things about minorities, Trump seemed to struggle while Scarborough forced him to respond. The candidate looked uncomfortable, unhappy, and somewhat lost. It could be a turning point.
If only. Of course, none of this actually occurred Wednesday night, just like it hasn't occurred once this entire campaign season. Instead, Scarborough and Brzezinski hosted what appeared to be a rehearsed and "safe" town hall, in which American voters asked the candidate such hard-hitting questions as "Why did you decide to run for president?" and "how will you set yourself apart" from other Republicans? It was completely worthless television, except in one sense: The program highlighted the many ways in which the media's coverage of Trump has been soft, insufficient, and without substance.

Don’t forget that a lot of “R’s” also aren’t going to vote for an idiot like Trump.
Why do you guys support the one candidate who turns off the most GOP voters? If you’re successful, you’ve going to have nanny-state Bloomberg running the country for the next four years.
And yet, Trumps opponents, including Cruz, aren't smart enough to use it against him.
What does that say about them, and their inability to deal with foreign advisories?
Read the whole article none of that happened. It’s a completely stupid article complaining that they were too nice to trump.
This leftist didn’t get the Journ-o-list memo that the media’s game plan is to let Trump sail to the nomination to make sure he’s set up as a sure loser against the Dems. They know Cruz will defeat them if nominated, but Trump will collapse from self-inflicted wounds or be destroyed by stacks of videotape of past problematic statements he’s made that they’ve been stockpiling over the last few months.
Why not? You don’t pay any attention to what reputable conservative say about him?
Cruz can’t campaign to Republicans that Trump is a racist, sexist billionaire who’s screwed the little guy over and over in his career, but that will be the Dem narrative, with far more evidence on their side than they had against Romney.
So that kind of puts a major dent in this argument doesn't it.
But the media loves the ratings
If they ignore Trump, their ratings will drop and whatever news source that is reporting on Trump will see a big increase in ratings and revenue.
Its all about the money
They are not going to make any ratings reporting on Hillary’s half empty middle school cafeteria campaign events
For those still playing catch-up, MSNBC has pretty much stepped into FoxNews position now that it has gone full anti Trump and Cruz.
As for Slate’s opening paragraph, it’s basically what FoxNews had planned to do against Trump in the debate he skipped. So good for him.
This is what Slate wanted to see happen in the town hall. Waaaaaa...
I wonder if the Bloomberg Supreme Court will find that hidden soda ban in the Constitution that we’ve been overlooking for 2 centuries.
Thankfully, TRUMP has already plead “GUILTY, as charged.”
Truly a been-there-done-that scenario.
If they want to hear it all over again in a general election, so be it, I guess.
As for his relationships with women, the media will look pretty silly banging on TRUMP, when there’s Bill Clinton standing right over there, not too far away, I think.
Ok, to be honest I wasn’t sure if it was satire because I watched it at midnight on YouTube. I thought it was edited??
They did get tough with him on a few questions wanting answers to how he would accomplish some of his campaign promises. He did well with the press and was kind of answering the audience questions with less specifity.
If I had to take a drink every time somebody said Trump was finished I would need a new liver by now

No kidding - I watched in on youtube and I didn’t get this impression at all.
Bravo!
I read the first few lines of this article and wondered if the author watched the same thing I did.
I thought is was a very good town hall a lot better than any of the debates and I do not remember some Muslim guy attacking Trump.
Wow! These media people are dishonest.
You really don’t get it, do you? By the time the media is done dishing Trump’s own statements about (pick your topic) out to the general public, even Bernie could get elected.
But never mind, because if Trump gets the nomination, we’ll have a President Bloomberg.
And you know what? The media might even be in on that one too. After all, he’s the one with the really big bucks.
It will be entertaining watching all of you so-called conservatives who justify your support for Trump based on his wealth (no one can buy HIM!!) try to rationalize not voting for Bloomberg, who could buy Trump out 5 or 6 times and have money to spare. I guess that will make Bloomberg your man then, right? And don’t go trying to say you’re suddenly going to start looking at Trump’s positions on the issues, because you’re going to be mighty confused when you finally start down that road.
Why can’t he?
