Breitbart ^ | 16 Feb 2016 | by Julia Hahn

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)rejects Sen. Marco Rubio's (R-FL) latest attempt to rewrite history on the Gang of Eight immigration bill. Contrary to Rubio's stunning claim that his Senate-passed plan was "not headed towards becoming law," Sessions says that Rubio's amnesty plan "was on the verge of being passed. Paul Ryan had the votes to get it passed."

Rubio has consistently lied about his involvement in the Gang of Eight. Rubio still holds the same positions he did then.

There is the truth about what killed the Gang of 8 Bill.

It was Cantor’s shocking defeat. Period.

The rest was theater for the rubes on all sides of the issue, because two of those guys performing for the rubes were already making arrangements to run for the nomination.

So thank God for David Brat! (And David did thank God!)

Who is David Brat?

The college economics professor is suddenly the tea party’s newest star after toppling House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R., Va.) in a primary Tuesday. Mr. Brat’s victory is the biggest House primary upset in generations - and wasn’t predicted by anyone, including Mr. Brat.

“God acted through people on my behalf,” Mr. Brat told Fox News during an interview Tuesday night. “It’s an unbelievable miracle.”

“Jeff Sessions: Rubio Rewriting History, Gang of Eight Bill Nearly Became Law Until Cantor Lost Race”

I remember that. Sessions is correct. Congress was hell-bent on passing the GoEB until Cantor loss, which put the fear of God into the House GOP. Support for the GoEB instantly melted away after Cantor was primaried out.

Just a side note to Cruz supporters who try to justify Cruz’s proposed Gang of 8 amendments by claiming that Sessions credits Cruz and/or his amendments with killing the bill. Pay close attention to what Sessions is saying here. He acknowledges here that the bill would have passed if Cantor hadn’t been primaried. So either they are misquoting Sessions when they claim Sessions credits Cruz with killing the bill, or they are misinterpreting what he said, or perhaps even Sessions misspoke with regards to Cruz’s role in killing the bill.

Thank you for mentioning DAVID BRAT. He does deserve attribution for running and, thanks be to God, for winning.

It was an answer to prayer.

Kevin McCarthy has been gelded, and now if we can take out Paul Ryan, we may get our country back.

We need a universal effort to defeat Paul Ryan, badly.

thank you again jeff for speaking the truth. your a fine senator and statesman.

rubio and his “gang of gopes and dems” were stopped by the grass-roots. laura ingram played a big part, and people who call themselves conservatives and tea-partiers going door to door and writing checks from all over the country.

i’m as proud of the signatures on my checks for Dave Brat as i’m sure John Hancock was of his on the Declaration of Independence.

This. Also, at the time, Ted promised up and down that he wanted the bill to pass and his one true intention was to shield illegals from consequence and “bring them out of the shadows”.

His tough talk on immigration is a sham.

Thanks for summing that up.

How can cruise take credit for killing the gang-of-8 when it passed the senate, and only lost in the house because cantor got primaried?
