CRUZ CAMPAIGN: DONALD TRUMP ALSO CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH
TedCruz.org ^ | Feb. 15, 2016 | Cruz Campaign

Posted on 02/17/2016 8:47:05 AM PST by Theo

As Ted Cruz continues to gain on Donald Trump, the billionaire has begun to lash out and dismiss criticisms of his own record as "lies." Today, the Cruz campaign responded to the charge by using Trump in his own words.

"Donald Trump just can't handle the truth," said Communications Director Rick Tyler. "He believes everyone who disagrees with him is lying. But everything Ted Cruz has said is accurate because he's using Trump's own words. If Trump doesn't like what's been said, he only has himself to blame."

Donald Trump at the South Carolina debate said, "You probably are worse than Jeb Bush. You are [the] single biggest liar."

But here are the facts.

FACT: Donald Trump Said He Was "Very Pro-Choice ... Strongly for Choice ... Pro-Choice in Every Respect" and That He Would Not Ban Partial Birth Abortion

...

FACT: Donald Trump Has Donated to Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and a Number of Other Democrats and Their Political Committees

...

FACT: Donald Trump Supports Universal Health Care and Having the Government Pay For It

...

FACT: Until Last September, Donald Trump Supported Greater Restrictions on Guns and Said Michael Bloomberg, the Leading Gun Control Advocate in America, Could Go Down as "the Greatest" New York Mayor

...

FACT: Like Marco Rubio, Donald Trump Said Gay Marriage is the "Law of the Land"

...

FACT: Donald Trump Has Refused to Denounce Taxpayer Funding for Planned Parenthood and Said "It Does Do Wonderful Things"

...

Why are you Trump people so afraid of Cruz?

I thought The Don was unbeatable.

Check post 42 and wonder - why would I be “so afraid of Cruz”?

You are stuffing an imaginary strawman....

"Donald Trump just can't handle the truth," said Communications Director Rick Tyler.

The single biggest mistake Cruz made was choosing Rick Tyler as his campaign manager.

Cruz is a decent man, and I think nearly all his campaign blunders can be laid at the feet of Rick Tyler.

It's a lesson in how picking the right staff, especially senior staff, is so critical. Tyler was a poor match.

Yeah, Greta herself became histrionically unglued in stupid sympathy with Trump when Trump accused Cruz of knowingly undermining Carson with a deliberately falsified report about Carson.

Heck, even Carson had to admit that the report had come to the Cruz campaign via CNN from Carson's own staff. Did Greta ever walk back her enthusiasm for Trump's accusation of Cruz? I don't believe so.

The damage to Cruz was done, and she won't undo it because she is afraid of Trump. She doesn't care enough about the Truth to stick her neck out where it belongs--for Cruz.

I always look to who has changed their personality the most since entering the race. Who acts one way in one state and another way somewhere else.

Cruz wins hands down.

Trump said he thought his sister would be a Great Justice.

He has flip flopped on this as on so many issues. Bringing up that which he has said isn’t dishonest. You can be called out on your statements past and present.

This is a huckster with a history. Spin it as you will.

I hope Trump sues so he will be publicly repudiated in the courts as the lying flip flop per he is.

Here's RedState recounting the 2013 immigration bill fight and said this about Ted Cruz.

So did Cruz mislead his fellow senators?

That's not the question. The question is: Did Ted Cruz stay loyal to the voters of Texas who elected him to stop amnesty? Did he keep his campaign promises to the voters of Texas?

Ends justified the means according to RedState

Nice ad hominem. Obviously you don’t want to face the facts so you make it about me personally. It doesn’t take rocket science to see what’s going on.

Excellent post. We must keep shining the light of truth. And hopefully those not being paid by Trump will figure it out.

How are those lies...when I’ve seen and heard Trump saying those exact things.

Maybe some of the videos are 5+ years old. But I’m not willing to trust anyone who defends Planned Parenthood.

I’m not willing to trust anyone who has donated money to John Kerry and Hillary Clinton.

I’m not willing to trust anyone who as an adult says “I’m very pro-choice.

I’m not willing to Trust Trump.

The topic on the thread is Trump's over-the-top lying. If Trump can win the nomination by his Alinsky-style tactics, I'm afraid that we are doomed as a nation.

Trump has scarcely more integrity than the Socialist Dems. The fact that Trump is dramatically nationalistic is not enough to offset that awful negative.

(BTW, although current polls suggest that Trump is the Republican who is least likely to be able to defeat Hillary, I happen to think almost anyone on our side ought to be able to beat her.

OTOH, I do know a scenario in which we could lose the general election: If Trump is nominated, many Christians will not go to the polls.

Remember: Many Christians stayed home rather than vote for a Mormon. I am hearing many of my Christian friends say that they will never vote for an over-the-top, lying bully who makes false accusations against decent Christians. In short, Trump's phenomenally high unfavorability rating includes a very significant percentage of the Republican voting block. So, Trump might be the guy who is committing political suicide--by his Alinsky-style tactics.)

I wish that both Trump and Cruz would shut the hell up about each other and channel their energy toward Clinton and Sanders! I am tired of this crap from both of them!
