Draft-Dodger Trump Said Sleeping Around Was My ‘Personal Vietnam’
The Daily Beast ^ | February 16, 2016 | Tim Mak

Draft-dodger Donald Trump once said that the danger he faced from getting sexually transmitted diseases was his own “personal Vietnam.” In a 1997 interview with shock jock Howard Stern, Trump talked about how he had been “lucky” not to have contracted diseases when he was sleeping around. “I’ve been so lucky in terms of that whole world. It is a dangerous world out there. It’s scary, like Vietnam. Sort of like the Vietnam-era,” Trump said in a video that resurfaced Tuesday on Buzzfeed, “It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier.”

Absolutely agree with this.

Really? Is this necessary? Mr. Deace better hope so for his sake. Fortunately for him, most of us have short memories and won’t even remember this dribble.

Are you saying the Trump Foundation is a criminal enterprise? Care to explain why you imagine that to be true?

Words have meaning your own iteration of the Trump Clinton Crime Foundation...

Explain yourself. See if you can do it without condescending one-liners.

You refuse to explain why you’re saying the Trump Foundation emulates the Clinton Foundation?

If you’re not willing to explain your words, why write them?

Could be, that would explain it. Just throw any old made up anti-Trump mud at the wall and see what sticks. Shameful.

As a Vietnam vet, I don’t find his comments funny, at all. Sucking up deferments, spending Daddy’s money, burning up the party circuit, yes, that is the same as being a big brave soldier.

I am a Vietnam vet and I think that anyone that didn't try every legal means to avoid that party is stupid.

especially equating licentious activities with service in Vietnam.

You do know you could actually do both right? I saw licentious activity in many ports but I have been married to the same woman 42 years now and I don't drink, smoke or chase wild women.

“Uh-huh. He cares about vets, unless they’re NYC licensed sidewalk vendors who happen to be disabled vets. Then, he doesn’t want them anywhere near his properties.”

I wouldn’t want the homeless near my house either.

Obviously, you didn’t even read the article. They weren’t homeless, they were licensed sidewalk vendors, which are everywhere in New York and many are disabled vets.

As was reported in the New York Daily News, Trump wrote in a letter to the New York State Assembly back in 1991, “While disabled veterans should be given every opportunity to earn a living, is it fair to do so to the detriment of the city as a whole or its tax paying citizens and businesses? Do we allow Fifth Avenue, one of the world’s finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?”

He was still at it in 2004, when he wrote a letter to Mayor Mike Bloomberg: “Whether they are veterans or not, they [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street.”

Is there anything for which you Trump supporters will not make excuses for the guy? Then, he did not want vets who were licensed by the city of New York anywhere near his “luxurious, important and prestigious” area. Today, he uses veterans as campaign props.

If one of them is camped out in front of my house, I’d want him gone, and I would support the right of ANYONE to protect their property...anyone.

They weren’t camped there, for God’s sake, they were legally selling items like hot dogs. If people weren’t buying them, they wouldn’t be selling there. Furthermore, they were on public property owned by the City of New York and licensed by the city to be there. The language he used just illustrates that Trump himself is an elitist, just like the elitists who don’t mind illegal aliens in their neighborhoods, but have no problem with them infesting ours.

Which Trump are you voting for anyway? The Donald Trump who supports abortion on demand, or the one who is pro-life? The Donald Trump who supports the Second Amendment, or the one who supports limited gun control, the extension of waiting periods and restrictions on “assault weapons”? The Donald Trump who wants to repeal Obamacare, or the one who wants universal, single-payer health insurance? The Donald Trump who wnats to deport all illegal aliens, or the one who uses them to avoid hiring union workers and making contributions to pension plans? Are you voting for the Donald Trump who thinks “Hillary Clinton would make a great president or vice president”, that “Obama is a superstar” and the one who has a great relationship with Reid, Pelosi and Schumer, or the one who thinks Obama’s the worst president in our history?

He’s taken every single one of those positions in the recent past and, on many of the positions with which most of us agree, he’s taken in the last six months. I hope, for the nation’s sake, that he’s the man you obviously believe him to be.

Trump had legitimate student deferments and finally considered 4-F! But he should not in any way consider himself a warrior! So disrespectful to the men and women that did serve during this time period!
