I saw my ex-husband in court last week. It was the first time I had seen him in longer than I could remember; the exact date lost in an 8-inch-thick legal file of court proceedings that is currently lying on my desk. In fact, I could count on one hand the number of times I have seen him since I started that file four years ago.
Up until just a few days ago, I literally could not find my ex-husband.
But before he disappeared four years ago, I was a married, stay-at-home mom of a 3-year-old daughter and 7-month-old son. Then overnight my world turned upside down when my husband said he was going to the store and simply never returned.
Not only was my marriage over, but he left me with two very young children in a position where I was unable to instantaneously support us.
Quitting his job and leaving his work vehicle (his only car) in the parking lot of his employer, he turned off his phone, moved out of town, and became untraceable. His actions were not just an exaggerated statement that he no longer wanted our marriage, but it was a heartbreaking declaration that he also no longer wanted our kids.
And Iâve heard it all; the judgments that people love to throw my way. âDidnât you see this coming,â and âwhat did you do to make him leave?â Or âthis is why you never should not have been a stay-at-home mom without your own career,â and my favorite, âyou had kids with him, you did this to yourself.â

EVERYONE is making the assumption that these 2 children were his biological children.
It does not say they are in the article.
It seems more like she was a 'stay at home' mother who had 2 kids (from being a party girl) and found some guy to get married to and use.
Who says they are ‘his’ kids ?
The fallacy is that there is an other side. Often the lawyers and judge and experts are all in it together.
The real joke is that discovery is done so that he court and the lawyers know how much mony they can bilk out of the process, and that determines how long the circus continues.
The entire process is arranged tobe antagonistic between he divorcing parties, and encouraged by both sides so more money goes to everyone but the family.
I think it’s because they go home.
Story reminds me of the song by Don Henley called “New York Minute.”

Harry got up
Dressed all in black
Went down to the station
And he never came back
They found his clothing
Scattered somewhere down the track
And he won’t be down on Wall Street
in the morning
He had a home
The love of a girl
But men get lost sometimes
As years unfurl
One day he crossed some line
And he was too much in this world
But I guess it doesn’t matter anymore
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Things can get pretty strange
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Lying here in the darkness
I hear the sirens wail
Somebody going to emergency
Somebody’s going to jail
If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hang on tooth and nail
The wolf is always at the door
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Things can get a little strange
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
And in these days
When darkness falls early
And people rush home
To the ones they love
You better take a fool’s advice
And take care of your own
One day they’re here;
Next day they’re gone
I pulled my coat around my shoulders
And took a walk down through the park
The leaves were falling around me
The groaning city in the gathering dark
On some solitary rock
A desperate lover left his mark,
“Baby, I’ve changed. Please come back.”
What the head makes cloudy
The heart makes very clear
The days were so much brighter
In the time when she was here
But I know there’s somebody somewhere
Make these dark clouds disappear
Until that day, I have to believe
I believe, I believe
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
You can get out of the rain
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
When they look like that you might really go gay!!!
Oh my Dear God, that is terrible. It’s an outrage how men are treated in the “justice” system.
Very well said.
Sometimes I have to “look” to see if some how I’ve logged into a site other than the profamily, conservative, prolife, Judeo Christian Free Republic.
I love that song, one of my favorites. I always assumed Harry committed suicide, though. I could be wrong.
So, you automatically assume that this particular woman is at fault?
It’s disgusting how many posters here are celebrating the fact that this useless POS abandoned his children.
Years later, when the children are older, I hope he misses them and tries to worm his way back into their life. And I hope they tell him to burn in hell.
Change the “family” court system and divorce industry from what it is now—a bastian of feminazi liberalism gynocracy on a mission to financially destroy middle class white men under the guise of false chivalry and then you’ll have many more converts.
And they wonder why the western world birth rate is so low compared to those under sharia law—the complete opposite and other extreme of western “family court.”
120 years ago, if the woman ran off, the husband received full custody.
Now “equal” women can run off, keep the house, kids, car AND wallet of the man merely by making false accusations, thus kicking him out. The parental alienation shortly ensues.
And this is why women are generally not suited to positions of management, combat, etc as they think emotionally and not logically.
I say that as a woman.
Several good points there. I must say, emotions do seem rubbed raw in this debate. To be clear, I have known good women who were treated horribly by bastard husbands, and I know good men who were tortured by immoral wives.
For men, I think two points must be made clear, and they are judicial, legal, and cultural points that cannot be disputed:
1. The family court/divorce system in America is bias towards women and it is corrupt. There is simply too much evidence out there to dispute this fact. Men know it. Yes, there is the rich husband who lawyers up well, but even in those andectodal cases, he is still running against the hurricane force winds of a system biased against men.
2. The abortion laws in the this nation are a tragedy, and the father of a child has no say as to whether his unborn son or daughter will be murdered. This is a crime against father, against children, and against God. Men know it - and they are powerless against our evil and wicked system. This injustice fuels their distrust, desperation, and outrage, and rightly so.
Rough being the second wife. You get all the pathologies, and much less money.
It’s abundantly clear that there is no female who can satisfy a male who has lost touch with reality. Since they claim to have been demasculinized by the harpies, perhaps they ought to find a surgeon and complete the process.
Especially at oneself, in my experience.
Harry either committed suicide or simply walked out, disappeared, and started a new life. It would be interesting to find out from Mr. Henley which one it is.
