A leading Supreme Court analyst thinks Attorney General Loretta Lynch is the "most likely candidate" to replace the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia. Tom Goldstein, who runs the influential SCOTUSblog, had earlier predicted Ninth Circuit Judge Paul Watford would make the top of President Obama's shortlist. But in a revised blog post, Goldstein said he now believes Lynch is the leading contender.

REJECT the narrative and premise that Scalia must be replaced now.
The Dems passed the resolution barring USSC appointments during an election year.
We MUST wait until the new president is sworn in next year.
If they are so confident of a 2016 win, then why not wait and abide by their own rules?
The difference was in that case, she was replacing another like-minded liberal.

You only have to talk to a Sanders supporter for about 60 seconds before you realize that they are going to have to be stopped, and voting probably isn’t going to do it.
Cruz followers are so focused on Donald Trump that they do not seem to realize that Cruz’s presidential aspirations just went to the grave with Justice Scalia.
The Supreme Court is now deadlocked 4 to 4 liberals vs conservatives. Any decision reached by a lower appeals court on Cruz’s eligibility will be let stand. If Obama gets away with a “recess appointment” the Supreme Court will do the dirty work.
They should play by their own rules.
I remember when Kagan was nominated and the press kept harping on her "historic" nomination. I sarcastically would muse "why is she historic? She's jewish but we've had jewish justices before, she's a woman but we have had women on the SCOTUS before too. What's so historic? Is it ... something else? Why won't they say what it is?"
Unsurprising.
Looking for a competent SCOTUS candidate from a Demonicrat slate is like expecting a diamond to drop out when you sit on the toilet.

Within 1 minute of hearing Scalia was dead, I predicted Obama would nominate a black woman. They have been calculating this for some time. The Democrats figure, and rightly so, that our spineless GOP Rinos will be afraid to block the nomination of a black female.
I forgot to mention that eligibility law suits will be filed where they are most likely to go to a liberal appeals court.

Analyst is spot-on. She lets Obama play the race AND sex cards. The media will beat the racist, sexist GOP to a bloody pulp. They will cave, or the Dems will use the fact that they didn’t cave to whip-up the Obama voters and get ‘em back to the polls.
Sadly this could not be working out better for Obama.

I would say that this congress will never approve this, but they have approved so many other left wing agenda items that I have lost my faith in them. The GOPe have no spine.
I agree. Plus I would slightly prefer a hillary nominee rather than an Obama nominee. It’s a crap shoot but my instincts tell me hillary is preferable to obama.
Zero can nominate her but I would be shocked it the senate, as it stands now, would approve her..
