Donald Trump Only Candidate to Address 1400 Indianapolis Workers Whose Jobs Are Being Sent to Mexico

During tonight's CBS Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump was the only candidate to address the news that Carrier will be sending hundreds of American jobs to Mexico.

The GOP frontrunner said that under a President Trump, Carrier would stay and "build in the United States because we are killing ourselves with trade pacts that are no good for us and no good for our workers."

Video footage emerged yesterday, which went viral, capturing the anger and heartache of 1,400 Indianapolis workers who were informed that they soon would be out of work, as their company will be sending their jobs to Mexico. The New York Post described the video as "stomach-turning."

The company representative tried to quiet the crowd, as workers of different races and ethnicities cried out in outrage and despair. "Let's quiet down," the company representative said in the video.

Trump brought up Carrier's move to Mexico, not just once but on two separate occasions during the debate.

Early in the debate, Trump said:

I'm going to bring jobs back from China. I'm going to bring jobs back from Mexico and from Japan, where they're all -- every country throughout the world -- now Vietnam, that's the new one. They are taking our jobs. They are taking our wealth... We're going to bring that money back. You take a look at what happened just this week, China bought the Chicago Stock Exchange, China, a Chinese company. Carrier is moving to Mexico, air conditioning company. Not only the ones I talk about all the time, Nabisco and Ford and -- they're all moving out.

Exactly. In order to use American wealth to raise the standard of living in the rest of the world, the standard of living in America necessarily will have to decline.

This North American Union ends us like the European Union and look what is happening over there. The European Union is an unelected government OVER the nation states and their elected governments. See what Angela Merkle is doing to Europe? She is in bed with the European Union. The plan appears to be about making the European people minorities in their age old lands. I do not trust Heidi Cruz or even the cleaning woman who works at the CFR headquarters. POISON—ALL OF THEM!

How could Carrier be so stupid as to announce to the world that they would fire their workers in 2017? Who would buy their product with disgruntled employees making them? And who will buy them now that many are angry enough to call for a boycott that could cost the company millions? Someone deserves to be fired before 2017.

I beg your pardon.

The contention was that Donald Trump “cares” about these people who are losing their jobs. He has the ability, right now, to do something to help these individuals. Either he will, or he won’t.

I do not have the ability to do anything to help these people, unless they seek help at The Salvation Army, to which I contribute.

The Donald could call the Carrier CEO and tell him if he is elected then all SHAFTA abusing corporations are going to face stiff restriction. But in the case of Carrier they are going to get real special treatment form US Customs. Every AC unit needs to put in quarantine for 90 days while the units are disassembled and searched for contraband.

There is always some bearded boy humper in a dirty nightgown following 15 paces behind them too. Makes me puke.

He could make threats based on possible future outcomes ... or he could act now, using his own resources, to help the affected individuals.

Which would show he “cares”? I’m reminded of ... was it Bertrand Russell? ... who, when asked about helping others individually, said, “We’re socialists, not Christians.”

Note that I haven’t said he *should* “care,” only responded to a poster who claimed that he does. I think it’s perfectly acceptable for a candidate to say, “What difference does it make whether I ‘care’? I’m running for Chief Executive, not National Daddy.”

What other word should he use to express acknowledgement that he will fight offshoring? Pick a world any word.

You’d think it would be illegal for them to move to Mexico if they’re a defense contractor or even part of the same corporation.

I’m nervous tonight, the msm and GOPe are in all-out assault mode on Trump. I know they use push polls and think last night Bus was to draw Trump into the 911 crap. Hope I’m wrong but will be glad when another poll’s out.

It wouldn’t be the first time.

However, I don’t think I did, actually. The point is to win votes, period.

The problem is big government, big labor, and employees who demand more than they give, knowing they can get bullies to bail them out.

If Trump cared he would not be advocating bigger government, more regulation, and stuff like that. He is also chummy with Unions that are long past their usefulness and just in it for their own gain which they squeeze out of both sides. Unions represent Unions. It’s a career, not a cause. They have corrupted into a pack of users who gain cover from political allies.

Since companies always get all the criticism, I thought I would spread the criticism around. All humans in every area of life are corruptible. If these people want jobs, make themselves invaluable. Or start their own freaking company to manufacture air conditioners. Nothing says they can’t. Be a competitor. They have the know-how, right?

Unions are in steep decline. Only 7% of the US workforce is unionized. In the manufacturing sector the percentage is a little higher at 10%. Unions are rapidly disappearing.

If Unions were so powerful do you think NAFTA would have passed to begin with?
