I feel like weâre back in the pre-Iowa period when no one could figure out whether Donald Trump skipping the Iowa debate would hurt himâby the normal rules, of course it would hurt him; by the Trump rules, it wouldnât make a difference and maybe even help (by demonstrating strength).
By the normal rules, Trump embracing a blood libel about George W. Bush (he knew there were no WMD in Iraq), saying Planned Parenthood does great things, and often swinging wildly and angrily would hurt him a week out from a primary in Bush-friendly, hawkish, socially conservative South Carolina.
But weâll see. Certainly Trumpâs behavior reinforces the idea that heâs disruptor and not just another politician, and Republican voters might not mind so much that one of the candidates is outspokenly anti-Iraq war (even if he takes it too far). Trump continues to be able to interrupt everyone else with impunity and act the Big Man on stage, with no one really able or willing to assert themselves against him.
Jeb is trying the hardest. He continues to improveâhe seems a bit more relaxed and authoritative every debateâ and did better against Trump than ever before. But some of his strongest moments were defending his family and although that is honorable, Iâm not sure how much that gets him. He has still not figured out how to clearly best Trump, even when he has the better of the argument.
Rubio was very good. A little sharper, a little more conversational. He probably got in more telling jabs against Trump in the Iraq debate than Bush did (although I doubt anyone cares much that Bush was enforcing U.N. resolutions).

Wonder if Scalias death was intended to be a threat to Trump.
Watching it is...Fascinating
Following the PP rabbit hole leads to defeat in Nov. The sad fact is the vast majority of GOPe has no interest in defunding it. Defund isn’t happening. Period. Sure it feels good to strut about talking about defunding it but since isn’t going to happen what’s the point? Much better strategy to take the issue off the table and focus on winning economic issues. The Dems would love to make the election about social issues. Don’t give them what they want, IMO.

pump up Rubio
Pump up Kasich
Pump up Jeb
See, I could write for NRO too.
Because the Croozers have nothing left but lies and inuendo
Watching it is...Fascinating
Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, but all the lies are really ticking me off. Thanks for your post, I will look at their comments/lies in a more fascinating manner....ha
IF Trump really said that he was for PP, but against abortion. Scary smart.
Genius. Trump is one.
Donald Trump does not even have to show up at these idiot “debates”. He does it with eyes open knowing that the GOPe is going to mob him.
Moderators would never dare ask hard questions of the fragile creatures called Hildabeast and Burrknee.
The Moderators and the MSM are fools! They stack the audience with Yeb! cheerleaders and Special interest/ Cheap labor Xpress cat-callers and only Trump has the cajones to call out the audience bias to their faces!
They have thrown all the sh!t at their disposal and have not harmed Trump. He walks away unscathed in the eyes of we who fully support Trump. His polls continue to go up and up.
‘Splodey Heads Abound in the Career Politicians corner.
More and more we see posts saying “I’m done with Trump now!”
Well, Bye! Go to your fainting couch clutching your precious pearls and if you find some gumption — come back the vote for a REAL MAN instead of a greedy, grasping career federal tit-sucker like all the others (except Carson).
As a businessman, Trump sees two things clearly:
1. Identification of the problem
2. Cost/Benefit analysis
A strong negotiator, he clearly defines objectives, and quickly evaluates the situation. Further, he builds a strong network of leaders and uses them. My hope is he surrounds himself with the best in the business and pushes them to exceed.
Career politicians cannot see the forest through the trees. They are adept at working within the system, within the bureaucracy. I expect Trump will remove the inefficiencies.
Trump and his team plan more than most realize. For example, he was the only candidate that mentioned 2 potential candidates for SCOTUS. He was also the only one to mention Carrier/UTC’s move to Mexico. Trump follows the issues, but he’s a cage fighter on the stage.
Fair enough I reject Trumps position, Cruz is telling the truth when he says trump supports funding of PP.
Pretending that federal funding is warranted and can be separated from their abortion business is dishonest IMO. YMMV. I object to Trump calling Cruz a liar on this issue.
I would love anyone to point to something PP does that is good and isn’t available from thousands of other providers who don’t murder babies in the womb.
For many conservatives this issue is every bit as important as illegal immigration.
Something that really impressed me with Trump is that he GETS IT that that is no debate.
He would not let an attack pass without jumping in right then to strike back.
The others stood meekly around awaiting the moderator to give them the nod....Candy Crowley sheep awaiting slaughter.
I stopped watching faux. Did Andrea Tantaros endorse Trump?
If so, yay!
Jeb has been running a lot of anti-Trump attack ads already, and Trump is not afraid to answer back forcefully and face-to-face.
We've been through all the "conservative" politicians for years now, and they've accomplished absolutely nothing. The naive people who think this time it is somehow going to be different are like people engaging in the futility of whistling in the wind.
(By the way, have you seen this humorous video clip yet? I don't think it is an authentic Jebby ad, but, then again, you never know...)
"Jeb Bush new ad for South Carolina Primary"
“He said PPâs procedures regarding pap smears, mammograms, etc. were good for womenâs health but NOT ABORTION”
I’ll take him at his word that he’s changed his mind about abortion.
Maybe he’s confused about how to explain what he means, I don’t know. But I do feel he needs to come out with a statement and clarify his position ...
Because logically, I’m not able to compartmentalize what PP does as being mostly good with a little bit of evil on the side, and I hope that isn’t what he meant. Again, he needs to clarify this.
PP should not be given a pass and excused by anyone, especially by a presidential candidate who desires to lead this country to be great again. IMO, the ongoing butchering of our babies is the major reason why we’re not great.
PP is evil, hiding under the guise of “women’s health” as a perverse cloak. None of us would ever give any other murderer a pass, give them monetary support, nor would we defend them by saying that they’re otherwise a good person and should not be held accountable for butchering their victim.
Yes, PP is evil, without doubt, and we are not talking figuratively here, we are talking literally as in Satanic Child Sacrifice type of evil.
Trump let it out last night that he seeks the best to give him advice. But even in consulting with the best he said mistakes can be made, and one needs to know how to adjust when mistakes are made.
He was nearly broken (had negative net worth) during the S&L crisis of 1990, which the Bush family had a hand in bringing about. This is why he hates the Bush family because he knows they are liars and that he nearly lost all that he had worked for, all that his father spent a lifetime building.
So when he had to beg and cajole to investors and bankers to let him try to turn it around, he had to bow down to the politic of the city which was abortion, gun control, universal healthcare, etc.
But before that, here was the real Donald Trump:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3330070/posts?page=86#79
His father was a very strong supporter of our vets and had sent young Donald to military school. Donald is a patriot of the highest order in his heart.
So when he had lost all his wealth, and his marriage was breaking up, and his friends were deserting him, he submitted to the evil of the city while keeping in his heart the positive uplifting words of his pastor Norman Vincent Peale.
When Donald had learned the lessons of his downfall, and had become strong again, and had recovered and greatly expanded his wealth, he found a friend who years before had wanted to terminate his child in an abortion but who had been unable to do so. When he saw the child had grown into a magnificent human being, Donald learned the error of his previous thinking and started down the path of becoming pro-life.
Donald the developer, the developer who was controlled by NY and NJ investors had to bow down to liberal values, and when he was separate and independent from them and all others, he was free to be himself.
Donald is not perfect, but he wants to do great things and he has shown he can do it. While he goes about fulfilling his dream for America, we can pray that God has mercy upon him and forgives him of his errors.
They must have a room with his name on it at Bellevue. No other person I know deserves it more than donnie. What a moron.
Good response. My sentiments exactly. This is one case where Trump is smart in deflecting the accusation about Planned Parenthood by stating a fact that the do some good things and he appreciates those, but not abortion.
The same could be said about various religions in history: Some have some very good aspects, but then there are a lot of terrible aspects.
Trump is just being factual. That won him points in the debate and maybe won him some Democrap and Independents in the Middle. Remember: Trump has to win the middle to beat Hitlery or Bummer Sanders. He won’t get a lot of Evangelicals. So the battle is for the middle.
—” I am thinking Ted should be his replacement. I am thinking Donald should pick Ben Carson as his running mate because Ben is gentle and he is intelligent. He will be perfect to counter Donaldâs grizzly nature which is perceived as âbullinessâ by the elderly and meek. I personally like Donaldâs grizzly nature and think itâs what the country needs now, but Ben would soften the image of the ticket.”
Absolutely brilliant!! I agree.
By the way, do you think there is a chance Trump would choose someone outside of the current pack of contenders for VP? If so, who?
After all, with all he’s said about Cruz, he can’t choose Cruz as it would make Trump seem like a fool and the Demorats will have many anti-Cruz soundbytes by Trump to use against them in the general election.
Look, I really don’t care if you think I was talking down to you.
There is no way in a civilized society that we should put up with what Planned Parenthood did....I did not mention abortion in my post...only the selling of baby parts and harvesting parts from ALIVE babies.
That my friend is not something a civilized society should tolerate.
We don’t need people that would “make deals” to keep planned parenthood open to appease someone on the left.
We need some conservatives in office who will draw the line and say enough is enough!!!
