Trump Dominates Debate On Twitter

The real estate mogul is responsible for 40 percent of the conversation during the CBS debate from Greenville, S.C., according to data obtained from Twitter. Jeb Bush accounted for 20 percent of the conversation, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 14 percent, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at 13 percent, Ben Carson at 8 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) at 5 percent.

...

Trump also gained the most Twitter followers of all presidential candidates, followed by Rubio, Kasich, Democratic contender Hillary Clinton who wasn't on stage, and Ted Cruz.

...

The top three moments on Twitter all centered around the social media-savvy Trump.

The most tweeted moment was Trump calling Jeb Bush "so weak on illegal immigration that it's laughable."

The next most-tweeted moment happened during the back and forth between Trump and Cruz over their conservative credentials. "You are the single biggest liar," Trump yelled at the Texas senator.

The third biggest moment was Trump's criticism of the George W. Bush administration and 9/11. Jeb Bush defended his brother's record, saying he kept the U.S. safe.

But Trump fired back. "How did he keep us safe when the World Trade Center went down?"

Does it really matter anymore? In one day the entire future of our republic landed in the lap of the Senate. THIS SENATE!!! the election matters for squat if our heroes don’t sack up and say no way to an Obama nominee for the SCOTUS.

We are now saying goodbye to the Second Amendment. We are saying hello to a Court that will serve as a super legislature giving us a perpetual Obama presidency.

Debate?!?!

Trump can also play the Iraq War card against Hillary, and keep bashing her with it. Jeb wouldn’t dare bring that up to Hillary if he was the nominee.

His game plan is to bring in the white working class who insanely vote democrat.

They have to come to grips with reality before they can be honest with themselves.

Pray it will happen.

Beck is probably in tears...

I think George W. Bush is a good man, and I agree he kept the nation safe after the 9/11 attacks. But there is also no question that he and his predecessor were not paying enough attention to the rise of Al Queda and bin Laden. As a nation we were unprepared and that enabled the evil-doers to hit us hard. Bush did not “lie” about the WMDs, but he did not defend himself against that allegation, which allowed many (probably most) people to think he did. Another mistake was the “mission acccomplished” photo op, the Abu Grahib abuses, and more mistakes that Bush cannot escape responsibilty for, despite the fact that I respect him and his Presidency.

Point being, W has been smart in living a private life and staying out of politics until now. But once he campaigns for his brother, he becomes fair game. Trump was prepared for that and decided to launch a preemptive attack.

We’ve had enough Bushes. The people know it and Trump just reinforced the reasons why.

Sure can play the war card against Hillary. Plus, she was also involved in the making of the Ukraine mess.

And then there was that matter of setting up a "no fly zone over Syria." Only changed her mind when NATO saw that the Russians had upgraded their weapons.

She is clearly untrustworthy and unqualified. She has a record.

I was a “W” supporter, I was most impressed with his empathy for the cadets killed and injured in the A&M bonfire failure.

However, the biggest mistake he made was taking Iraq without a plan for the aftermath. In retrospect, he could have gone in, and left when the war turned into a street fight. He needed to keep the army for internal control and his plan to put a bureaucrat in charge was a total failure. But finally, he did not understand the mindset of the nation. His plan was to show them the virtue of democracy and watch as they embraced it. Hell, they did not even embrace us as liberators.

Good points about the pre-911 failures. We were warned by the first trade center bombing and the perps made multiple dry runs. As Trump says, we need to have borders and enforcement if we are a country.

Cruz is a snake, out there in interviews trying to scare voters into coming to him. Says if they elect Trump they’ll lose their guns because he’ll appoint a liberal justice.

As if Trump would take a chance on someone who had a remote chance of taking his guns.

Agreed with all you said. I would add the Bojinka Plot to the list. This showed a lack of imagination. 9/11 was no Black Swan. There was plenty of blame (most) to go back to the Clinton years.

President Bush had a responsibility to correct those lapses. He never once pushed back.
