BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - Someone call the fire department. It's about to get hot at the White House.
President Barack Obama, who is spending another Valentine's Day apart from his wife, Michelle, did the next best thing short of celebrating the lovers' holiday with her: On Friday's broadcast of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the president recited a love poem he says he had planned to deliver to the first lady in person.

Cleaning out some stuff I showed my wife some old songs and poems I had written in High School. Some probably were drafts that I had given to girl friends.
“How come you never wrote ME a poem or song?”
“Um - ‘cuz I didn’t know you in High School?”
“That’s no reason!”
So I tore off a piece of scrap-paper and wrote:
“Rose are Red,
Violets are Yellow.
I love you more
Than mixed-fruit jello.”
I think after 20 years she still has that scrap around. Of course she doesn’t need it, she has it “memorized.”
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You have a giant caboose
I’ll send a C-5 for you.
