Heidi Cruz said Wednesday that her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was showing America "the face of the God that we serve" through his faith-based Republican presidential campaign.
No, He knows the flesh is weak and that is why He sends His Spirit of Truth to empower us, that we should not fail, that we should overcome the weakness.
“To he who overcomes”
“I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”
And yes, should we stumble, we have Him as our advocate before the Father, however, stumbling is not something done on purpose, it is done out of weakness or ignorance and so when we have been made aware of that which we first tumbled, we should no longer stumble because we know how to traverse the path so not to stumble.
When we have been made aware of a commandment, and we understand what He says are the requirements of that commandment, if we break it, we do so by choice, not by weakness. And that is why James said this in Acts 15:
Act 15:21 "For from ancient generations Moses has, in every city, those proclaiming him - being read in the congregations every Sabbath." 22 Then it seemed good to the emissaries and elders, with all the assembly ...
Every Sabbath these new converts would hear Moses being read and so every week they would learn more about their contract with God and as they learned, they would apply what they learned. Moses is the school master, Christ is the Perfecter. We do not throw out what we learned from the school master, through the power of the Spirit of the Perfecter in us, we too can perfect that which Moses taught us.

Just shut up, Goldman/Sachs lady.
All you want is The Money.
That was a stupid nasty ad.
And using innocent kids to force Ted’s agenda was unbelievably wrong.
>> that is why He sends His Spirit of Truth to empower us,
If we ignore the spirit, get ensnared by the world, stumble into the nature of the Old Adam, and Repent for doing so, that’s covered by Grace — otherwise His sacrifice wouldn’t have been necessary.
Rom 3:23-31
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunishedâ 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

wrong...
The action figure doll actually looks more like Ted.
There was never any sacrifice for willful sin, that is, doing sin when we know it is sin, such as casting aside the 4th Commandment, which BTW, is the Day in which He placed His Name, the Day that Christ is the Master of.
Grace has been from the beginning in the very first sacrifice God made when He killed a lamb to cover the sins of Adam & Eve. And then they took that covering with them as they left the garden and they taught their children the importance of that sacrificed lamb and the importance of bringing that sacrifice before God. Both Cain & Abel knew the importance of the lamb, however Cain denied it by his failure to bring the proper sin offering. And that is why Jesus said,
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
His commandments are not hard. What is hard is all the crap that the religious elite added to them and that is what Christ freed us from, the extra burdens that man had placed on the commandments of God.
And so it is, those who say they are of Christ, yet reject the day of gathering together for His instruction, they have no clue as to the enormous amount of patience God has. As far as His grace in this matter, well, looking at the physical health of the bodies of those and how sick they are, dying of gruesome diseases, I do not see grace, I see the curses that the Word of God instructed Moses to write down. I see that lack of faith in that the Gospel says that Christ carried ALL of our sicknesses and diseases so that we should not be burdened with them.
And that is why we have chosen to separate ourselves from that religious system that rejects the authority of Christ in their daily lives, especially the need to stop once a week, on His appointed Sabbath day by removing ourselves from the system of commerce so to be a light to the nations, that the inhabitants of those nations would too come to Christ so to receive the blessings of His instructions. Shalom
Yes!
Mark 2:27-3:4
27
Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."3
Another time he went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, "Stand up in front of everyone."4
Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent.

I would never infer to presume I speak for anyone BUT myself. If you’d note the rest of my post, I’m not dismissive.
As an agnostic (or whatever you’d like to call my thinking [universe built by ONE deity? Or ‘big bang’? Neither suit my noodling. I do wind up in Hell, I guess I was wrong and deserve my fate. Religion (most) are good ‘basics’, I don’t think they are the end-all. Sorry for th tangent.), I think I’m downright personable (if I do say so myself /s). I’m def. not one ‘mad’/’afraid’ that needs to have every cross, “In God We Trust”, Bible verse, etc. removed.
Office of the Presidency is to the country...not just the evangelicals. I don’t enjoy (let’s say: take kindly) being preached.
IMO, NO theocracy is compatible with a Free country; I had my fill of sin-taxes and Blue laws, thank you kindly.
Again, a Constitutional basis on Rights can be debated by its own merit. They wrote ‘Creator’ for a reason.
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest (G2664 katapauo), He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 So there remains a Sabbath-keeping (G4520 Sabbatismos) for the people of God. 10 For the one, having entered into His rest (G2663), has himself also rested (G2664) from his works, as God from His.
Is not the body of Christ the people of God? And until we are in the grave sleeping, we have not entered His rest, therefore, there is a keeping of His 4th Commandment as He gave it to His people and those of the nations who are called by His Name.
Adam saw God’s face before the fall. Not after.
Moses conversed with God but did not see His face.
Abraham saw angels or God in a form that was toned down.
I do not deny the power of His creation or the perfection of the Word.
I think that “seeing His face” is a sloppy phrase in this situation.
Ex 33:11
11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
NIV
What does face to face mean?
Did we see the face of God in Jesus?
>>And your point is?
It was Jesus’ point.
does it really matter?
>>does it really matter?
It’s not a matter of primary doctrine. God evidently has chosen various physical forms for interaction with His creation.
Discerning what constitutes membership in, and the form of, the Body of Christ, OTOH - does matter.
How do we discern when the “face” isn’t of that body - but of something else operating in the spirit of anti-Christ?
Yes, the Sabbath was made for man, to give ALL mankind rest from their regular weekly jobs.
Ecc 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
And yes, it is good & right to heal on the Sabbath and that is what His Word does, when we hear it and then apply it to our lives, it heals us! Literally! Christ is our physician & healer! So why do those who say they are of the body of Christ not go to Him for their healing?
Exo 15:26 saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.”
Deu 7:11 âAnd you shall guard the command, and the laws, and the right-rulings which I command you today, to do them. 12 And it shall be, because you hear these right-rulings, and shall guard and do them, that ×××× (the LORD) your God shall guard with you the covenant and the kindness which He swore to your fathers, ... 15 âAnd ×××× (the LORD) shall turn away from you all sickness and put on you none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He shall put them on all those who hate you.”
Deu 28:15 âAnd it shall be, if you do not obey the voice of ×××× (the LORD) your God, to guard to do all His commands and His laws which I command you today, that all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you: ... 22 â×××× (the LORD) smites you with wasting disease, and with inflammation, and with burning, and with extreme heat, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew. And they shall pursue you until you perish.
Isa 53:1 Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? (Jn 12:38) ... 4 Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. 5 ... ,and by His stripes we are healed. ... 10 But ×××× (the LORD) was pleased to crush Him, He laid sickness on Him,...”
Psa 103:3 Who forgives all your crookednesses, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with kindness and compassion, 5 Who satisfies your desire with the good, Your youth is renewed like the eagleâs. ... 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. ... 13 As a father has compassion for his children, So ×××× (the LORD) has compassion for those who fear Him.
Deu 10:12 âAnd now, Israel, what is ×××× (the LORD) your God asking of you, but to fear ×××× (the LORD) your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, and to serve ×××× (the LORD) your God with all your heart and with all your being, 13 to guard the commands of ×××× (the LORD) and His laws which I command you today for your good?
Mat 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Act 7:37 This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers.’ 38 This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us. 39 Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt,
Rom 3:1 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? 2 Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God.
1Co 10:1 For I want you to know, brothers, ... 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. ... 9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed ... 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. 12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 3 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
And no, God does not use doctors to heal diseases. Yes, they are good for setting bones and stitching up wounds, however, their poisons do not heal. Sure those poisons may mask the symptoms for a while, but eventually the disease manifests itself in the same form or in another form.
Mar 5:25 And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, 26 and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. ... 27 She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. ... 30 And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him ... 34 And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease."
Shalom
My point is Jesus was right.
Ex 33:11 you got me there.
The first century people saw Jesus physically -> As He allowed them.
If you think that today you could look God in the eyes, knock yourself out.
I am prostrate before the Lord.
prostrate: to cast oneself face downward on the ground in humility and adoration
And I am merely pointing out how the SE folks either voted for a MORMON or a MARXist last time.
I've noticed.
But if no one preaches to you; how will you come to accept Christ as your Savior?
Romans 10:14
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
