On Tuesday, Donald J. Trump's campaign started running a negative ad in South Carolina against Senator Ted Cruz that was searing, describing the winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses as a fake and a "Washington insider."
The spot also scolded Mr. Cruz for his campaign's role in spreading claims that Ben Carson had suspended his campaign while the caucuses were taking place; Mr. Carson, in fact, had not ended his candidacy, and Mr. Cruz later apologized to him.
But on Wednesday the spot was abruptly pulled down by the campaign. The Wall Street Journal reported on the strategic shift, saying that Mr. Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, had made the decision to go with all positive spots beginning on Thursday. Mr. Lewandowski made the decision after seeing that Mr. Trump's more positive-focused tone in New Hampshire appeared to help him at the end, according to The Journal.
Asked to confirm the Journal's account about only running positive spots going forward, Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Mr. Trump, said that is now the campaign's plan, although she did not elaborate on the reason for the change.

Stinking it up should be his campaign motto.
He's an average politician in an extraordinary time.
We need someone bold like Trump or Cruz and not someone that's milquetoast.
Oh, they work alright, otherwise they wouldn't be used. I do believe that Trump's campaign may be an exception, because people are prejudiced to see him as mean and unfair, and he doesn't have the "mantle of Christianity" to hide behind.
Smart move on their part. Somebody is paying attention to how the public responds to the publicity. He can shift back to "defense" and "negative late next week, if there is a sense that is advantageous.
Another factor is that other candidates are going negative against each other, some of the messages that Trump was putting out (e.g., Cruz won dirty in Iowa, vs. Carson) are repetitive of the messages put out by Rubio, for example.
?????
We'll see. I think the one thing we can say that Trump & Cruz have in common is very dedicated followers.
Another known falsehood The Don insists on keeping alive, all the time claiming he’s not being negative. Utterly dishonest.
STUNNING comparisons! THEIR WORDS!
This week we have examined the presidential campaign announcement speeches of Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump.
We have looked at their comments on immigration and Terrorism, Islam here.
Today we look at what their concerns with the 2nd amendment/right to bear arms in their important first campaign speeches. Following that is Trade.

Or an ad showing that Cruz taking Bill Clinton off the table.
Cruz has bruises as does Trump from this campaign.
That’s how they need to frame n ad. Don’t back down from “New York values”.
Those ads were dishonest. Cruz should point that out.
She kind of resembles Malania.
I guess that's why I support Trump as I've heard the politicians say all this before and nothing changes.
Trump has been in the public eye for decades. His persona is no secret.
Oh yes he did. Virtually all of his enterprises have been built on various forms of crony capitalism, including eminent domain abuse.
Look what the NY Daily News is reporting.. (I know the NY Daily News?)
Feb 11, 2016-excerpt
“Polls show that Donald Trump is poised for another big win in South Carolina, which hosts the next Republican primary on Feb. 20.”
“The latest RealClearPolitics average of recent polls in the critical early-voting state show the bombastic billionaire with 36% support.”
“His next closest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, has the support of only 19.7% Palmetto State Republicans.”

God forgive me for linking to that sleazy publication. They do cite RCP as their source.
The man is crushing his opposition in the polls. He can afford to be magnanimous.
Well since you made the claim you should back it up with documentation. Otherwise I and the others reading your assertion will think you are just a loud mouth liar. So go ahead and document Trump getting rich from eminent domain.
Probably waiting to see the outcome of Cruz and Carson’s meeting.
It would look really dumb if the come out of it fast friends and Carson throws his support to Cruz.
Is that the one that is being promoted on another thread that is by an unnamed pollster, but said to be reliable by unnamed insiders?
