Thursday, February 11, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Baton Rouge, LA at the Baton Rouge River Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM CST.
As the "Capital City", Baton Rouge is the political hub for Louisiana, and is the second-largest metropolitan city in the state, with an estimated population of 228,895 as of 2014. The metropolitan area surrounding the city, known as Greater Baton Rouge, had a population of 820,159 people as of 2013.The urban area has around 594,309 inhabitants.
HOW DID BATON ROUGE GET ITS NAME?
The French name le baton rouge ("the red stick") is the translation of a native term rendered as Istrouma, possibly a corruption of the Choctaw iti humma ("red pole") Andre Joseph Penicaut, a carpenter traveling with d'Iberville, published the first full-length account of the expedition in 1723. According to Penicaut,
"From there [Manchacq] we went five leagues higher and found very high banks called ecorts in that region, and in savage called Istrouma which means red stick [baton rouge], as at this place there is a post painted red that the savages have sunk there to mark the land line between the two nations, namely: the land of the Bayagoulas which they were leaving and the land of another nationâthirty leagues upstream from the baton rouge named the Oumas."

At this time, I have no idea if the event will be in the large arena or the theater.

TRUMP 2016
it doesn’t really matter
The Baton Rouge River Center holds up to about 12,000. Let’s hope that it filled to capacity, and then some.
What doesn’t?
I get it...Where it’s held.
They have a beautiful theater, but I suspect he’s going to want it in the arena.
Thanks nikos for your daily Trump rally threads - always appreciated!
His "retail politics" could be interesting too, meaning how he responds to the radio and television ads.
Debate this Saturday, not sure if that is enough time for his opponents ads to have made much of an impression for the debate moderators to work with. Count on more shaming mailers, LOL.
I figured the town was named because some cheerleader dropped her red baton during an important parade.
Don't make me reprimand anyone tonight.
Anyone reading the stuff posted by Dick Morris and others about the shake up at FOX, with Murdoch expecting his people to prop up Rubio? This fully explains what I saw the night before the Iowa with Luntz’ focus group that was totally in the tank for Rubio.
It resulted in a poorly written post by the next morning that called out Iowans for being superficial and cowardly.
I was right. It takes courage to lead. Trump has the courage.
Sounds like your Ailes out of the picture. YOu have BOR and Kelly Megyn at odds, and you have a definite slant toward’s Rubio’s campaign.
This is good, because the longer these turkey’s stay in, the more likely Trump will win.

Thank you.
Those focus groups are hand picked for the desired result/”magic effect.” Funny thing about people, quite a few will pull for the person they think is going to win. I mean, that is the ONLY criteria that controls their choice. Some will have a mild sense of anxiety, wanting Cruz but believing Trump will win - still, they will pull for who they think will win! People are very strange and wonderful creatures.
Is every Trump speech now breaking news?
The French came across two large red polls situated miles apart and decorated with animal hides. It apparently indicated the boundaries between two Indian nations.

Placing it in Breaking News helps prevent double threads. You can do the same for your candidate.
