Pentagon orders commanders to prioritize climate change in all military actions

The Pentagon is ordering the top brass to incorporate climate change into virtually everything they do, from testing weapons to training troops to war planning to joint exercises with allies.

A new directive’s theme: The U.S. Armed Forces must show “resilience” and beat back the threat based on “actionable science.” It says the military will not be able to maintain effectiveness unless the directive is followed. It orders the establishment of a new layer of bureaucracy — a wide array of “climate change boards, councils and working groups” to infuse climate change into “programs, plans and policies.” The Pentagon defines resilience to climate change as: “Ability to anticipate, prepare for, and adapt to changing conditions and withstand, respond to, and recover rapidly from disruptions.”

To four-star generals and admirals, among them the regional combatant commanders who plan and fight the nation’s wars, the directive tells them: “Incorporate climate change impacts into plans and operations and integrate DoD guidance and analysis in Combatant Command planning to address climate change-related risks and opportunities across the full range of military operations, including steady-state campaign planning and operations and contingency planning.”

So we will maybe ride around in electric vehicles to stop polluting the battlefield, maybe not fire a missile that leaves a vapor trail, eat organic rations that do not use horrible fertilizers. Where does it stop?

This is an easy way to get all Americans killed on the battlefield.

Ware is hell, and there is no barrier we should put up in killing the enemy, period.

Madness. It is like the mania of Hitler during Germany’s last days.

Further proof positive that this President is destroying our military and our ability to defend this nation.

This is ludicrous and would be laughable if it were not so deadly serious.

We simply have to overwhelmingly defeat these internal enemies. Hillary or Sanders would simply produce more of the same.

I pray we get a 16 year run at turning things around with both the Executive and Legislative branches in control of adults who love and revere America...which would lead to the Judicial Branch being solidly in their hands as well.

We desperately need it.

what i’m thinking, is that it takes a year or two for ANY Federal endevour to get off the ground.

In 9 months, we’ll have a new president. Hopefully ours.

And none of this nonsense will come to fruition.

and i CANT WAIT to see all these short sited military big shots lose their jobs.

did they think obama was going to be in power forever?

Then, of course, there is this one from a different source with a slightly different title.
Report [to military] calls for assessing climate change risks in worst-case scenarios

Artificially handicapping our military in so many different ways is a sure recipe for completely gridlocking our nation’s capability to respond to external threats.

It would surely prove one concept of “patriotism”, however. Many, many more soldiers would have the “honor” of dying for their country, but “honor” means squat when the other side prevails.

And in war, one side or the other must prevail, or the war shall have no end other than total exhaustion of men and resources.

the soldiers can wear air filter panties so they don’t fart methane into the atmosphere and destroy the ozone layer. I grew up hearing we were destroying the ozone layer so there you go- my contribution. you’re welcome

This country already showed its ‘honor’ in its treatment of soldiers during Viet Nam. Very large segments of ‘society’ turned on them because they had the misfortune to implement the will of a Presidency and Administration that had neither the balls nor courage to commit to anything but getting re-elected.

Wasn’t this brilliant theory used in deciding not to bomb an ISIS oil truck column because of the environmental damage it would cause?

And Caligula, after invading England, ordered his troops to turn and attack the sea and to collect sea shells as a spoil.

I see no difference between that act and this.

If thsee types of things aren't stopped NOW, then there will be no saving us in the future.

May God have mercy on us.

Most all of the upper most military commanders, at least the ones with any brains, have left the military or have been fired by the obummer and replaced with weenies.... That is to say, "Girly Men"...

:)

The stupidity of this is that there are an infinity of different outcomes to “climate change”.

Just cataloging the possibilities should occupy the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) for years.

I worked with them. They tried to sell the Army on using them to show future scenarios for “climate change” during Bush II’s presidency. At the time, the Army was not interested.

Yep. They will be riding around in electric vehicles that don’t pollute the battlefield while the entire city is burning. Or maybe that will be the goal — no more bombing or artillery use because burning cities put too much carbon into the atmosphere.

This is a red flag that shows where the next presidential edict will focus.

They could be concentrating on WINNING. Quickly.
With minimum damage to our own troops.
All this eco and PC crap is only weakening our readiness. It's nuts.
