Full Title: Cruz Says Drafting Women 'Doesn't Make Any Sense' and Cruz called America's enemies, not its soldiers, "psychopaths."

Peterborough, N.H.- Ted Cruz came out against requiring 18-year-old women to register for the Selective Service and the possibility of being drafted into the military. At a campaign event here Sunday afternoon, Cruz responded to some of his rivals, like Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush, who said in Saturday's debate that women should have to register.

"It was striking that three different people on that stage came out in support of drafting women into combat in the military," Cruz said. "I didn't have an opportunity to respond to that particular question. But I have to admit as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was, 'Are you guys nuts?'"

Cruz vowed not to change the current policy as president. "Political correctness is dangerous, and the idea that we would draft our daughters to forcibly bring them into the militarily and put them in close combat I think is wrong. It is immoral, and if I'm president, we ain't doing it," he said.

Cruz referred to the fact that while he loves his two daughters and believes they can do anything they want, the government should not force them into a situation where they might see combat with enemies in a war zone.

If it isn't clear by now, "forces of darkness" is a nickname for the MSM. And they are at it again. This smear against Ted Cruz is gross, meant to destroy, and, oh by the way, false.

Like yesterday's post, this one is about a liberal member of the press smearing Cruz with a deliberately misleading characterization:

If you don't know who John Harwood is, and I assume you sanely don't, he covers "Washington, the economy and national politics for CNBC and the New York Times."

Obviously he's suggesting that Ted Cruz called American soldiers "psychopaths" who we should be afraid to allow near women. A nasty, hateful thing for Cruz to say and gosh he must hate the troops. Right?

Harwood doubles down on this:

Only it of course was a complete smear. Luckily Mike Warren from the Weekly Standard was also at the event:

We reached out to the campaign, and it turns out, shocker, Warren is right and Harwood is a jerk. Here is the quote:

"The idea that their government would forcibly put them in a foxhole with a 220-pound psychopath trying to kill them doesn't make any sense."

Harwood knew exactly what he was implying. The liberal way is to get the damage done. You will see people repeat the claim that Cruz called American troops psychopaths over and over for the rest of the year, especially Trump supporters. The damage is already, at least in part, done. Which is exactly what was intended.

Prime combat age is also prime child bearing age. Forcibly separating women from their young children is the very definition of anti-family.

I also think there should be a Draft , for some sort of national service commitment , maybe not the military .
Draftees , although there have been MH winners , are generally not enthusiastic about Mil service .

But drafting men is “pro-family”? We are cool to be cannon fodder to protect the poor little princesses, that can vote to send men off to die, but they can kick back and enjoy the protection of men.

I’m against drafting women because most are weaker than men. War is not a good place for on the job training or to get in shape. I have several femi-nazi relatives who are having a fit about the notion of women being drafted. “It’s unfair” “Women aren’t as strong” “How could they do that” As usual, the libs trying to have it both ways.
