When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) last month mocked Donald Trump‘s "New York values," it wasn‘t entirely clear what he was implying.
This week we got a clue: For Cruz, "New York" is another way of saying "Jewish."
At an event in New Hampshire, Cruz, the Republican Iowa caucuses winner, was asked about campaign money he and his wife borrowed from Goldman Sachs. Cruz, asserting that Trump had "upward of $480 million of loans from giant Wall Street banks," said: "For him to make this attack, to use a New York term, it‘s the height of chutzpah." Cruz, pausing for laughter after the phrase "New York term," exaggerated the guttural "ch" to more laughter and applause.
But "chutzpah," of course, is not a "New York" term. It‘s a Yiddish — a Jewish — one. And using "New York" as a euphemism for "Jewish" has long been an anti-Semitic dog whistle.

One of my best friends growing up is Jewish. We still stay in contact. The older he gets the more he resembles the typical Jewish stereotype to the point where he could easily pass as a character on Seinfeld. But despite this he is extremely sensitive about Jewish stereotypes and is always looking for signs that people are picking on him because he is Jewish. He has gone off on me many times over the years for saying things that I had no idea had any relationship to Jewish culture.
It is no secret that I am supporting Trump, but ANY idiot journalist OR FReeper who suggests that Ted Cruz has even a speck of antisemitism in his veins needs to ride the lightning. I disavow such suggestions, and say ‘adios’ to the n00b who is now breathing pure ozone.
I know this: Ted Cruz loves Israel, as do we all.
Is there another major city in this country, where Yiddish has become part of the popular slang regardless of whether or not you’re Jewish? Using the term “chutzpah” IS a NYC sort of thing, precisely because it’s spread beyond Jewish people. This is some sort of weird backflip of logic to pin a negative on Cruz, when none is there.
At least The Trumpers don't approve of delusional trashing of ANY the GOP top tier.
A non-apology apology wrapped in a lie. They didn't forward anything, they changed "flying to FL" to "dropping out of the campaign". Just because some people at CNN speculated that Carson might be dropping out doesn't mean that CNN reported he was. Ted has a knack for dismissing real issues as nothing, but it adds up eventually.

It’s politics people. The strongest arguments are going to be used why your candidate is the best and the other is trash. I can get past anything what somebody might say.
