AUSTIN - Ted Cruz leads a new presidential primary poll in Texas, just over a month before the U.S. senator will face his home-state voters in the much-anticipated Super Tuesday contest.

A KTVT-TV/Dixie Strategies survey released Thursday shows Cruz at 30 percent among likely GOP primary voters in Texas. He's followed by mogul Donald Trump at 25 percent, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 12 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 8 percent.

That's a change from October, when the same pollsters said Cruz was trailing in Texas behind Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

The latest poll, which has an error margin of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points, contacted 1,001 likely GOP primary voters on Monday and Tuesday. It appears that Dixie Strategies uses automated telephone interviews, which some experts say are less reliable than other methods.

“Your so-called facts are based on anecdotes, nothing more”

Please be sure and point that out the next time one of your fellow Trump supporter claims Trump rally crowds are huge. Of course, in that case, I’m sure you’ll claim that the crowd size is proof of Trump’s popularity, huh?

“But calling me a dishonest Trump supporter ends our discussion.”

Calling a poll a fact is dishonest, to say the least, but the discounting of on-the-ground observances shows a lot of hypocrisy too. That is typical of a Trump supporter.

Arkansas yesterday.

The Coliseum manager and fire marshal came out before Trump had even arrived and announced that the all-time attendance record for Barton Coliseum (dating back to 1974 - ZZ Top) had been broken. The new record is 12,507.. the old record was 11,471.

If they love him why is he only winning by 5 in this poll ? Looks like Trump is tied with him.

“If they love him why is he only winning by 5 in this poll ?”

You mean the polls that showed Trump winning Iowa by 6-13% over Cruz? Those polls?? How did relying on those trumped up polls serve you in Iowa???

I live here. I can tell you that I have not seen any Trump support, but I have seen overwhelming Cruz support...so yes, we love Cruz in Texas!

I know, you hate Bush because you must have been an Al Gore supporter...and now you want to support a raging demoncrat liberal like Trump!

To bad Bush, despite his faults, is still far right of Trump, but, I guess so is Biden.

Smart voters in Texas, which is why they have such a great state.

Also, judging by the way Sen. Cruz was underestimated in Iowa, it would not surprise me if it were even higher in Cruz’s favor.

Notice Cruz placed the calls AFTER
THAT’S AFTER
Carson had already clarified no suspension.
After.
Yet Cruz went forward with the lie. And now it’s on audio. Times and everything.
*********************************
Stop pushing the lies! It was campaign staffers and Sen. King that sent those messages, not Ted Cruz himself.

CNN did not report for some time that they had been contacted by Carson’s campaign saying he was not leaving the race.

I don’t think Trump has spent a dime in Texas yet.
******************************
I think he did draw a large crowd at the AT&T Center, where the Mavericks and Stars have their games, a couple of months ago. ......Folks here always enjoyed going to the sideshows at the State Fair to see Alligator Boy, the Bearded Lady, etc.

And I hardly think of Romney as being a big hit in Texas.

Texans were voting against Obama and held their noses to vote for Romney.

And I would caption: Canadian Citizen Until 2014.
********************************************
According to a posting here on FR a few days ago of the Canada law, Ted Cruz would have had to claim his Canadian citizenship there within one year after reaching the age of 21. He did not do so ....and probably wasn’t even aware of the possibility. ...He cleared all of that up a couple of years ago by going through the courts in Canada to ensure there would be no questions about the issue.

While everyone knew he was born in Canada, nobody knew he was still a Canadian citizen then.
