Limbaugh: Rubio Campaign To Blame for Carson Drop-Out Rumors
Conservative Review ^ | February 3, 2016 | Chris Pandolfo

On his radio program today, Rush Limbaugh dropped a bombshell report that the rumors of Ben Carson dropping out on Monday were actively encouraged by the Rubio campaign.

[Listen]

CNN reported that Dr. Carson was on his way back to Florida after the Iowa Caucuses. Staffers working for the Cruz campaign reportedly heard the story and began telling caucus-goers Monday night that Dr. Carson planned on dropping out of the race, allegedly attempting to swing voters for Cruz.

According to Limbaugh, however, there are reports that the Rubio campaign is just as much to blame for spreading these rumors, trying to convince Carson supporters vote for Rubio.

So why is the Cruz camp being attacked from all sides while Rubio is ignored?

Because "Cruz is the frontrunner!" Limbaugh says. "They don't think they can go after him on issues."

I think the rest of the country is more like NH than IA.

Democrat Governor, Democrat Senator, Republican Senator with 24% conservative rating for NH. Iowa Republican Governor and 2 Republican Senators. Iowa appears more in line with the rest of the country.

Yes, it seems Carson’s the one playing dirty pool here if it’s anyone. Sour grapes anyone?

Note to CR, might want to actually listen to the source before putting words in Rush’s mouth.

All publications, and professional writers, might be wise to keep in mind candidates come and go but a professional reputation as habitual liars will follow you, and your publication, around forever.

We KNOW it had an impact. Did it give Cruz the win? I seriously doubt it-— but the fact that Cruz’s people were scared enough to do something so underhanded does not look good for the Moral One, St. Ted-—not that it will affect Cruz supporters one iota.

Disgusting. And not necessary. Cruz’s people were that unsure?

It appears as more facts come to the forefront the Cruz campaign appears to less and less liable for any wrongdoing.

I see no problem with other campaigns being upset about this. Or discussing it.

And what are those additional facts?

CNN runs the story about Carson. Both Rubio's and Cruz's camps reasonably believe Carson's bizarre behavior signals that he's bailing out of the race. Both camps solicit Carson's voters.

Cruz wins (no surprise) and Rubio places as a substantially higher 3rd place finisher (big surprise).

In a gentlemanly fashion Cruz apologizes to Carson. You say "Did it give Cruz the win? I seriously doubt it..." I agree.

It appears the one who may have benefitted from the unexpected boost from the Carson snafu was Rubio, yet no apology has been forthcoming from the Rubio camp.

Cruz's camp could see how the night was going and it wasn't scared of either the guy who turned out to be the 3rd or the 4th place finisher.

Trump is upset because Cruz beat him handily. To quote you again, "We KNOW it had an impact." I agree. Rubio's surprising surge almost rendered Trump a 3rd place finisher.

Yet oddly some, including yourself apparently, choose to blame Cruz alone - the guy who did not need to gain anything from Carson's bizarre behavior in order to win the race.

If I was Dr. Carson I'd be wondering when I would be receiving my apology from Rubio.

FReegards!

I’m so happy I didn’t listen to him say this, on top of his big reveal yesterday. Yeah yeah, it’s all Rubio’s fault? Is this his lame attempt to walk back his BS comment regarding Rubio yesterday?

He is getting slammed for that stupidity, all over the place. He deserves every bit of it -

Because "Cruz is the frontrunner!" Limbaugh says.

Says who? Trump is actually the frontrunner and Rubio will soon be #2 if Cruz keeps it up.
