Rep. Steve King Says He 'Knows Things' About Trump Endorsements
The Daily Caller ^ | January 31, 2016 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 02/01/2016 12:52:20 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

AMES, Iowa - Rep. Steve King , an Iowa Republican and Ted Cruz supporter, says Donald Trump bought his endorsements. Trump recently received high profile endorsements from Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and Liberty University president Jerry Falwell, Jr.

King reiterated his statement about the endorsements to the Daily Caller on Saturday during a Cruz rally at the Gateway Hotel and stressed that he "knows things."

"He has, from a regular person's perspective, unlimited resources and he's willing to use whatever access he has in order to get the endorsements that he wants," King explained.

"Among those are the assets that we would naturally think of, including the attraction that might be for, oh who knows, a reality TV show, a job in the Trump machine," he said.

King added: "There's fame and fortune, and there's also the fear factor of retribution, which Donald Trump has not been shy about delivering against people. So all of that affects a person's judgment under those circumstances."

The conservative Iowa congressman would not get specific, but would only say, "I know things, but I'm saying what is appropriate, so that people will know enough, and I'm wanting to keep this on as high a plane as I can, but I don't think my conscience can allow me from not saying anything."

I'm sure you're familiar with the tactic of the Left of accusing their opposition of engaging in bad behaviors to deflect from their own behavior - like lying, influence peddling, and engaging in the politics of personal destruction.

Donald Trump:

Ted Cruz is a liar.

Ted Cruz is owned by banks.

Ted Cruz is a nasty guy.

Ted Cruz is an anchor baby.

Trump just tosses out lies (and "concerns") and the media runs with it.

-----

In line with Steve King's comments, I read that yesterday there was a "dust-up" between Donald Trump and Bob Vander Plaats.

.......Trump says that Vander Plaats, head of the Iowa-based Family Leader, asked him to stay in his hotels for free and also requested he speak at an event while seeking $100,000 for himself........

And some truth came from it:

Donald Trump attended - and TRUMP was paid $100K to give a keynote speech at the 2015 Iowa Land Investment Show - an appearance that Vander Plaats had requested. So Trump (as usual) calculated how to exact revenge on someone who supported Cruz and LIED in a *tweet* to his followers and to the media:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump @bobvanderplaats asked me to do an event. The people holding the event called me to say he wanted $100,000 for himself.Phony @foxandfriends 6:36 AM - 31 Jan 2016

**********************

Being curious, I looked for information on Trump's keynote speech and it is on YouTube: Donald Trump at 2015 Land Investment Expo. [I listened to part of it earlier, but when I went back to listen to more of it, I found that it isn't loading - perhaps it is a temporary "glitch."]

But what I did hear when the video was up, was Trump doing an 1:06:00 sit down interview where he is promoting himself, his buildings, his business success, his business genius - and during his monologue at the 7:15 mark into an hour appearance, he states out of the blue "I never went bankrupt, many people went bankrupt in the early 90s, I never did."

For the record Donald Trump filed for bankruptcy in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009 (you can quibble and deny it, saying they were business bankruptcies not a personal ones but this will shed some light on that dodge).

**********************************

But Trump's followers say it doesn't matter that he lies and holds liberal positions; all that matters is that he says that he is going to build a wall.

Why would anyone believe anything that Donald Trump says?

He can't even be honest about his finances - the "wealth" he brags about that represents "leadership" to his followers.

There is no leadership with Trump, there are only lies.

Then he cynically enlists his followers and the media to spread his lies.

What unbelievable contempt Trump must have for the "little people."

Have you been following the Free Republic caucus polls? It looks like a majority of Freepers disagree with you.

Wow, Rep Steve King better be able to back that up because he just accused Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and Liberty University president Jerry Falwell, Jr. of being unprincipled sellouts putting their interests over the interests of the country. That is a serious accusation to make.

And yet Ted Cruz literally has the endorsement of a guy (Bob Vanderplaats) who has been accused of selling his endorsement by both the Romney campaign and others.

One wonders whether King himself sold out his endorsement, and is now projecting his own guilty conscience onto people like Falwell and Sarah Palin.

Trump NEVER "declared bankruptcy" !

Look it up; this is a LIE !

And this guy is the one trying to smear Trump, because his candidate is "dirty' and a LIAR !

Ted IS a nasty guy; look at the mailer he sent out and has now doubled down on sending it, not once but twice. And don't attempt to claim that others have sent out the same thing, because they didn't.

You suffer from rabid TDS and have long before you ever claimed to be a Cruz supporter!

You post nothing but FLAME BAIT and then pretend to be as innocent as the driven snow.

And don't bother replying to this post; I'm post it for everyone else to read and agree with, which most shall.

FR THREAD: Trump lends campaign nearly $11 million

"....Trump, who often boasts about that he is self-funding his campaign, loaned his campaign $10.8 million, leaving his operation with nearly $7 million in cash-on-hand.

The campaign reported that it spent nearly $7 million during the fourth quarter alone. It raised $2.6 million beyond Trump's loan. Most came from small dollar donations.

The campaign owes $12.6 million to Trump himself......The real estate mogul's filing comes less than 24 hours before the Iowa caucuses"..

Donald Trump’s security advisor is former DIA chief, Gen. Michael Flynn.

A Trump administration will be like Ronald Reagan’s 3rd term.

Which the FEC tossed out.

DISPOSITION: The Commission found no reason to believe the Santorum Committee violated the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (the Act), in connection with a shared voter list in light of respondents' sworn statements that neither Vander Plaats nor his organizations ever provided any lists or "things of value" to the Santorum campaign. The Commission closed the file in connection with the allegation concerning the Red, White and Blue Fund and alleged coordinated communications. The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the remaining allegations."..

Yes, it’s slander even if it concerns a public figure.

I’d go ahead and sue if I were Palin or Sheriff Joe or Falwell.

What are these GOPe guys like King so afraid of losing if Trump gets in?

They indict themselves with statements like that.

Cruz lied about liquidating ALL of his assets to fund his Senatorial campaign, when in fact he took out two different loans, and LENT his campaign the BORROWED money.

Do you EVER haves anything to post about Trump, which isn't a packet of drivel and lies?

He is not the first Cruz supporter to invoke their conscience... I think his conscience is cheap, given all he lobbed is rumor and innuendos.

Is this guy a lawyer? Put up or shut up, I can handle the truth.
