A couple of years ago we had a barn owl, which is the largest owl in the USA, living in an oak tree in the back yard.

Just before dusk we could see him soaring high above, looking for rodents.

He tried to stay here but the grackles made his life miserable because they had a nest nearby.

The owl was replaced by a baby hawk. Nobody fooled with him! ;-)

We have owls galore here and hear them screech at night when they fly over our fields hunting rodents.
Sometimes I’ll hear them hoo-hooing to each other and I’ll hoo-hoo at them. The question marks are evident in their hoos back. “HOO is THAT???” LOL!

Speaking of birds, I’ve been watching the “Eagles” (rock group) anthology on CNN the past few hours. Grew up with their music. Part 2 is airing now.

I had no idea they had that tonight. I watch CNN during the day for news but not at night.
I grew up with their music, too. Henley was booked to play at the night club where I worked in Raleigh but had to cancel. It would have been nice to have met him. Big disappointment. :-(
