A couple of years ago we had a barn owl, which is the largest owl in the USA, living in an oak tree in the back yard.

Just before dusk we could see him soaring high above, looking for rodents.

He tried to stay here but the grackles made his life miserable because they had a nest nearby.

The owl was replaced by a baby hawk. Nobody fooled with him! ;-)
