We need to secure the border. Any bill this body passes should have border security first & then legalization. Not the other way around.

And...
This is ABSOLUTE PROOF that Ted Cruz has been telling the truth the entire time, and Marco Rubio and his supporters are absolute liars. 2013 interview with Rush Limbaugh, where Ted Cruz submits to America, what Rubio and the Gang of 8 was doing AT THE TIME IT WAS HAPPENING. This was recorded BEFORE IT WAS VOTED ON. So Rubio and his lying supporters canââ¬â¢t claim Ted changed his view, when here he is, live on Limbaugh, in 2013, saying the SAME THING HE IS SAYING NOW. https://youtu.be/sLjBG3EE0G4
Really? In June of last year, Trump was talking about providing legalization for the "good" illegals. Two weeks later, he was talking about deporting them all, but then letting the "good ones" back in on an "expedited basis". So you think two weeks is an "old position"??
Cruz' however, are just from this past congressional cycle.
So are Trump's. See my comment above.
Flip-Flopped on H-1B Visas:
Well, Trump is all for H1-b visas, he is for allowing foreign students to stay here, his companies requested almost 1000 H2-b visas in the past year...
In 2013, Senator Cruz offered an amendment that would increase the H-1B Visa program from 65,000 to 325,000.
You DO realize that H1-b visas are a form of LEGAL immigration - so it has nothing to do with the conversation about illegals. And modifying the rate of legal immigration happens all the time to reflect changing circumstances.
Cruz, who over the past few weeks has specifically endorsed deportations after months of resisting, said in an interview that aired Sunday on State of the Union that the U.S. should catch those who came here illegally under normal law enforcement practices, not through round-ups of the estimated 11 million undocumented people living in the U.S.
Or in other words. Cruz advocates for enforcing the law - just as he always has. Trump, on the other hand, has been fine with his companies employing illegals, building Trump Tower, working on the Post Office Building renovation in DC, working at his resorts... If Trump can't even keep his own companies from hiring illegals, why should we believe he would do any better as president?

Cruz is part dolphin.
World is radically different in 2016 than it was in 1980-88. Trump is popular because he is focusing on issues which voters are worried about in 2016.
Some major differences:
In 1980, we did not have $505 Billion trade deficit with China. Middle class jobs had not disappeared.
In 1980, Iran was not the hegemony in middle-east as it is now. Saddam from Iraq was their counter-balance.
In 1980, Illegals amounted to under 3 million. Now it is anywhere between 111 to 30 million. Nobody has the exact count, because they live in the shadows.
In 1980 there was no caliphate chopping heads off of Christians and Jews.
11 to 30 million.
I don’t resolve it. He’s either changed his mind, or he is saying what he thinks people want to hear. I suspect it is the later, but I could be wrong. But Trump is for amnesty right now, unless he has also changed his mind, by saying he is going to kick all of them out and let the “good ones” back in. You can nitpick the words, but the effect is the same. So, for this issue, do you choose someone who used to be for amnesty, but isn’t anymore (supposedly), or do you choose someone who is telling you (in a roundabout way) that they are currently for amnesty?
Trump has had (supposed) position changes on many issues. Why take him at his word, but not Cruz?
So he was either lying to us or to them.
Nice options /s
This is exactly why anyone running for president needs to have their history examined be they businessman or politician.
Its different when Trump does it. Because. Just because.
You have totally misrepresented all of Cruz’s ideas, you know that don’t you? To stick up for what Cruz has done just shows us that Cruz was in the wrong, and lied about everything he has done and it shows Trump is right on everything he is doing...
ME2TED is always on someone’s coat tails, here in the campaign or in the Senate...
Sorry your candidate is not what you want him to be because he is in the first place a Canadian and in the second place has NO business being in our American Government, which also follows obuma along with him, you compare Cruz to obuma and you have twins...
But you keep supporting him, and when this is all over, I’ll send you some tissues to dry your eyes with....
Cruzâs narrative was that he was deceiving (lying) to the rest of the Senate by suggesting support for the bill so his poison pill amendment(s) would be included and kill the bill.
Yes that is his narrative but he is trying to deceive us with that fictitious narrative.
‘Yep “poison pill” my ass. Cruz was for ‘legalization’ - amnesty.’
+1
‘Even if you hold that Cruz changed positions’
Why can’t Cruz admit he changed position? Trump says he was wrong on some issues and has changed. Cruz demands irrational belief in explanations that defy logic and intelligence. Why can’t he just say, ‘I changed my mind.’
He has given reasons for his change on H1 visas and TPA. On the gang of 8 bill he used the democrats own phrases against them and has Mike Lee backing him on that. Cruz has been consistent on birthright citizenship and the priority of defending the Constitution (including marriage and religious liberties)
He’s changed positions on everything illegal-invader related. He simply claims he hasn’t, and his supporters carry that water. For example, Cruz originally said it would take a Constitutional amendment to end birthright citizenship. Trump said otherwise, and now Cruz is singing Trump’s tune.
I’m a naturalized LEGAL citizen originally from Canada. I am gainfully employed, pay a lot of taxes and AM a conservative who votes that way.
In fact, I’m to the right of most of those were born here.
I’ve also noticed that I know more about American history then pretty much any natural born American I’ve come into contact with.
I like Trump for his bold attitude and that he is a successful businessman, but it seems this whole Obama presidency disaster has put a disdain by native born Americans for productive legal aliens that want to live in this fantastic country by lumping them into the same boat with the non-assimilators; basically parasitic Democrat voters. Understandable, yes, however it’s basically the same premise Democrats use only in reverse by not making that distinction.
I’m heartsick over the establishment Republicans caving to the libs. I’m even more shocked over the way the top two “rogue” candidates are battling instead of attacking the dems who have single handedly destroyed this great beacon of freedom like chinese water torture over the last 50 years.
I understand political competition, but we are far past a tipping point in which the founding fathers would have found incomprehensible.
Which is why these two men should join together in battling the socialism AND the apathy of the “new norm.” They are both clever and intelligent enough to start the millenials thinking clearly and associating the mess this country is in with the slippery slope of liberalism.
We have had this conversation before and will just have to agree to disagree.
Just so I know we we’re agreeing to disagree on. Cruz’ original position was that only a Constitutional amendment could stop the automatic granting of citizenship to foreign invaders’ babies. You’re saying he still publicly maintains that position?
