Fiorina throws $3.5 million at Trump, Cruz to join debate

An hour after a Ted Cruz-supporting super political action committee announced it would give $1.5 million to any charity if Donald Trump met him for a one-on-one debate, fellow GOP candidate Carly Fiorina jumped in on the action.

Upping the ante, I'm free tomorrow at 8pm, @realDonaldTrump. My campaign will give $2mm to veterans' cause to debate at Drake U. (2/2)-- Carly Fiorina (@CarlyFiorina) January 28, 2016

My campaign will also donate $1.5 million to veterans' cause to join debate Saturday in Sioux City, @tedcruz @realDonaldTrump (1/2)-- Carly Fiorina (@CarlyFiorina) January 28, 2016

The former Hewlett Packard CEO tweeted late Thursday night that her campaign would match Keep the Promise's $1.5 million donation to a charitable cause if Cruz and Trump let her join their debate in Sioux City, proposed for Saturday.

Fiorina upped the ante by daring the Manhattan billionaire to take her on one-on-one at the Thursday night rally he announced in place of his attending the seventh GOP debate, hosted by Fox News. Her campaign said it would donate $2 million to veterans' organizations if Trump accepts.

It is unclear whether Fiorina, part of the undercard debate set for 6 p.m. Central time, would skip the debate or fulfill her obligations with the Republican National Committee before heading to Drake University -- two miles away -- to take on Trump.

This could turn into a bigger debate than the FoxNews one.

The other leaders might want to consider it also. It is likely to command a larger viewing audience than the FoxNews thing.

If Cruz or Rubio jump ship, the FoxNews will be a bust.

Trump has the mojo. He has other candidates in a bidding war to join him for a debate at *his* fundraiser for wounded veterans...

Just wow. How do you beat that?

It’s against the rules to have an unsanctioned debate.

This was Bernie's answer to Hillary (also desperate for more face time). He said if he participated in an unsanctioned debate, he'd be barred from future Democrat debates.

She probably has to pay for sex and possibly at steep prices due to the “hazardous” nature.

How can Trump turn down an offer that benefits wounded warriors?

Oh please. Wait until you see how much he raises tonight. It will make 3.6 million look like money found between the seat cushions.

Desperation is now running at a fever pitch. They know that it is Iowa or bust. The game will be over with the first pitch and home run. Trump will be spending personal time with the people of Iowa, the people who will play on Monday, while the debaters will be part of a Fox News revenue generating choreographed production.

Maybe Trump should answer that this event is a fund raiser for charity and not a debate but they would be happy and thankful to take her 2 million donation for a good cause.

Since Carly will make this donation only if Trump agrees to debate her it's clear Carly only wants to be charitable when there is something in it for her.

By offering $5,000,000 to Wounded Warriors for Cruz, Fiorina and co. to shut up?

These ankle-biters need to stop trying to use Trump for attention.

Looks like these candidates are admitting that the Fox debate will be worthless without Trump.

They’re pathetic, aren’t they?
Imitating Trump, or trying to... a bad act all around.
It’s an exercise in “follow the leader.”
Me, I’m happy to support and VOTE for the leader.
Not the Chihuahuas - they are boring and unrealistic.

why does there have to be strings to help veterans?

If any of them are serious then just give the vets the donation and cut the BS.
