Trump isn't the first top-tier presidential candidate to skip a debate. Ronald Reagan did not attend a Republican debate ahead of the 1980 Iowa caucuses, which he lost to George H.W. Bush. Reagan went on to the win the nomination and the presidency.

Next you are going to tell me that if Jesus came across a abortion clinic while he walked the earth in the flesh 2000 years ago, that he would not have ransacked it as He did with the Temple money changers.
BIG difference. I agree that Jesus would most likely be inclined to do MORE than ransack an abortion clinic were He walking the Earth today. THAT however is not the issue. The issue is your preposterous assumption that if Jesus were walking this Earth today, that He would be sure to sign up for the Cruz campaign and lend His Name to an earthly political campaign. That is absolutely blasphemous for you to suggest with your abominable tagline.
So in your mind their is no difference to The Lord between the Christian beliefs of Cruz vs Trump... I see
Only the Lord can peer into the human soul and know what one person believes, and THAT is way above your mortal paygrade. I know this: to the Lord there is NO difference between Trump, Cruz, Clinton, Sanders, or any other soul walking the Earth, because as Scripture states, God is "no respecter of persons", He views EVERYONE equally, for "all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God".
I'll tell you this 'Chauncey', if Jesus was humbly riding through town and you tried to slap a Cruz bumper sticker on his donkey, He would rebuke you.
And it would only be a rebuke IF you were extremely lucky that day.
You're no better than those money changers in the Temple you mentioned, because you are seeking to sell the Name of the Lord Jesus for political purposes.
SHAME ON YOU.

Two questions for you!
1. I asked this before, do you have a good priest to help you when your world collapses around you?
2. Do you contribute monthly to FR?

Your conservative has a Canadian birth certificate.

Like I said before, you won’t see President Trump signing any amnesty bill like Reagan DID.

Reagan thought he had it in the bag, skipped the Iowa debate, and lost the state. Had to scurry to get back on top.
(Noting that you’re a fellow Texan, I peeked at your history and am heartened and impressed with your considerate and articulate posts. FR needs more of that these days.)

Reagan’s plan didn’t do that ... until Congress stomped all over it.

At least, so he says. And we know how dicey that is.

Reagan thought he had it in the bag, skipped the Iowa debate, and lost the state. Had to scurry to get back on top. He'd followed the advice of his then-campaign manager John Sears. After Reagan dumped Sears, his campaign got into a much faster gear.

Trump will be a huuuge improvement! Without Trump it is very likely that a conservative would never be potus going forward. Trump is our only shot but you want to blow it!
To: Boardwalk
What data do you see that shows him outperforming other leading GOPers vs. the top dems?

It seems to me that the difference is that Trump, I believe, agreed to attend the debate and is now pulling out. Nothing about Reagan doing that is reported in your link, only that he didn’t attend. There’s a difference.

The entire gop and dems are the threat within. Trump is not like the others. First he thoroughly cleans house! No one else can even dust!
To: Boardwalk
Trump is not like the others. How do you know? It's all rhetoric at this point.

I believe he wants to make America great again, and further, I think he is uniquely qualified, at this crucial time, to do it.
To: ScottinVA
The top Dems have yet to be determined. We have a clear top Republican leader who was been leading for more than 6 months, not to mention setting the agenda.
To: Boardwalk
Let me be more specific. What data do you see that shows him outperforming other leading GOPers vs. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders?
