Trump isn't the first top-tier presidential candidate to skip a debate. Ronald Reagan did not attend a Republican debate ahead of the 1980 Iowa caucuses, which he lost to George H.W. Bush. Reagan went on to the win the nomination and the presidency.

Would Jesus be pro life?
Trump is no Reagan.
Good we don’t need illegal aliens becoming citizens again like in the 80’s.
Cruz doesn’t have near the knives out for him that Trump does.
No. Trump isn’t even in Reagan’s stadium, much less on par with him.
You can bet President Trump won't sign an amnesty bill like Reagan did.
Certainly you’re not comparing Reagan’s “I’m paying for this microphone” to Trump’s near-daily dramatics, are you?
Yeah let’s nominate Cruz so the dems can crush him with his Canadian birth certificate!
The subject of the previous comment was a comparison between Trump and Reagan. How did you go off-track?
“If Trump wins in a landslide will you come back here and apologize for being wrong?”
I won’t apologize, but I will admit I was wrong.
“Can we all give you âI told you soâ type of ridicule?”
If it make you feel better.
“completely meaningless.”
So are ALL counter-examples meaningless or just this one?
If that’s all you’ve got, you’re grasping and you know it. That conditional amnesty of fewer than 3 million was based on an agreement with the democrat run Congress in exchange for vastly in erased border security. Unlike anything Trump would man up enough to ever do, Reagan later regretted as a major error trusting Congress to uphold its end of the deal.
So try again.
in erased = increased
Neither did Trump. He skipped debate because of the immature press release Fox sent out. Why should he go on if heâs not going to receive equal respect??
If Fox had issued a similar PR about Cruz, you Cruzers would go apes**t and praise Cruz if he had as much balls to skip out as Trump did.

This "debate" run by Fox was going to be another hit piece attempt on Trump (since the "paint-Trump-a-sexist" theme last time). He's far smarter than most of them and out Fox'd them again.
"Chris Stirewalt is the advance guy, the Fox political debate contractor/producer who is in Iowa setting up the parameters. He's the scout organizing the Muslim activist to confront Donald Trump. He's the guy organizing the Mexican immigrant to question/antagonize the intended target, trump. Stirewalt puts the agenda script together - Ms. Kelly, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Baier execute the production."
I went straight to your end game which is to nominate Cruz by smearing Trump. Perhaps you simply don’t realize what is at stake here! Tragic.
No doubt about that! Surprised at how many people still believe this is primarily about Fox's Kelly.
When Trump and others expose what was really going on to do a hatchet job on Trump, they will make the CBS Rathergate bs look like a grade school playground dust up.
MGYN RATHER and her best bud, MURDUCK were up to their hipboots in slime to take out Trump along with their NR liars posing as great writers.
This will be coming out in spades this week.
In the meantime we can do what I have done with Faux. Normally, by this time I would have had my tv on and tuned into Faux for at least 3 hours.
Zero Faux time today and for a long time to come. I will get my news from FR from people I trust.
I am doing a Macycide on Faux, and I will not be the only one.
Murduck is doing to Faux what he did with the Wall Street Journal, driving away viewers/customers. Did he do the same with NR?
Isn't that convenient. Just before the Iowa debate.
I still think he's going to declare victory and show up. His word is worth squat.
I totally realize what’s at stake. That’s why I prefer a conservative. Trump is far too much of a political chameleon for my taste. He’s been all over the map on every major issue over the years. You want to make that leap of faith, go for it.
I’m not quite so idealistic in my trust in someone just because his words sound good at the time.
