Politico dropped a hit piece today as well:

Cruz pushed a little too hard. Should have focused on the issues.
Ha! This is BS. A poll released earlier today showed just the opposite, that Evangelicals *strongly* support Ted Cruz, and haven’t been fooled by the phony Trump.
It might have something to do with Palin since it only showed up now.
The lead will grow even more because he just got endorsements from two Evangelical leaders yesterday and today, which is plenty of time for the word to circulate before the caucus.
I’m guessing Cruz didn’t plummet with Black evangelicals, because he didn’t have any to start with.
It’s a poll that polled well over 2,000 voters.
I’m a solid Trump supporter but I’m not putting anu stock in any of the polls for Iowa. It’s a weird puppy and anything can happen on caucus night. I think Trump is going to do well but I’m prepared to be a little disappointed. There have been too many years where someone came out of the blue to win in IA. Trump just needs to do well there and kill it in NH.
The media is coalescing around TRUMP, because busting 40 points, and leading the lower tier by 8 to 20 points means it is over for any other.
The media wants to move on to cover Bernie now, against Hillary and get the General Election themes started for summer.
Palin effect, Brandsted effect, Jerry Falwell jr effect and now maybe Sessions effect. :-)
That’s impossible. /s
Wittness all ye’ what happens when America rises up against her oppressors.
The jig is up.
I love Cruz btw.
Not!
Cruz - Trump
50 -34 Tea Party
39 -27 Evangelical
49 -29 Very Conservative
21 -29 somewhat conservative
6 -31 liberal
There’s another poll with “likely to caucus” focus and it’s really close, 29 and 31 for Cruz and Trump. Also, there’s a lot of talk that the Governor’s comments had more impact than Palin, which is possible, but I can’t help but feel that it’s also a case of the media not being able to bring themselves to give Palin an ounce of relevance... they can’t do it, it would kill them to admit that it’s even remotely possible!
Most Christians really WANT to be Onward Christian Soldiers but the message of love and peace does not align in the human mind with warfare, which is equally taught in the Bible
We've prayed about it, lamented and waited and .. God forgive us if we're wrong .. no longer willing to wait and pray
Nehemia gathered up a troop of warriors and put them to work on the wall (politics) with a trowel in one hand and a and a spear in the other (warfare)
Trump has convinced 28% of voters that Ted Cruz is a Canadian.
Well that seems legit...not.
It’s that “silly” Canadianess issue.
Cruz can’t hit Trump’s curve ball...none of them can.
I do not think it is a ‘Palin effect’.
He married himself to Glenn Beck, and did perform a mock swearing in procedure, which really hit some folks wrong, and for others, is looking like he put a jinx on his own efforts.
These numbers are great, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Polls have been full of it in the past.
I’m fighting back excitement at this point. I’m pretty sure it’s going to go one of two ways: A) Everyone underestimated Trump’s ground game (in all the states) and he’s going to absolutely crush everyone because people who previously have become disinterested in the process are now motivated to vote in the primaries, or B) No one bothers to actually go out and vote and it’s just a muddled mess and slowly some establishment lane person like Rubio gains traction and becomes the nominee.
I think the MSM and political establishment squawking parrots have largely been correct about one thing: This election is throwing all the political insiders for a loop, and it’s safe to throw the playbook out the window. At least, I hope this is true, because it bodes well for Trump if so.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. At this point, I’m just going to show up on voting day and do my part, and the chips will fall where they may. I’ll throw my vote to Cruz in the general if he manages to pull it off somehow.
Anyone other than those two, I’ll have to engage in some soul-searching and prayer to guide me on what to do.
