Four years ago, I called the GOP the Thelma and Louise Party because its primary voters were determined to nominate a presidential candidate who could not possibly win the general election. The weirdest thing about Romneyâs doomed candidacy was the support he received from people like Ann Coulter, who had spent years vehemently denouncing such transparent RINOs. This year, Coulter supports another RINO who cannot win: Donald Trump. Now, Sarah Palin has endorsed this sure loser. Coulter and Palin have thus become the Thelma and Louise of the Republican Party. Will GOP voters let them drive their party off the cliff?

Palin also has a history. She continues to support ruz despite his record. So she is not exactly the standard for principled beliefs.
I’m a Cruz supporter who disagrees with the author. I support Cruz not because Trump can’t win, but because I believe that Cruz is the best candidate.
The REAL story of 2016 is that Hillary Clinton is an EXTREMELY weak candidate. Any Republican except John Ellis Bush should be able to walk over her if he runs a serious campaign and can contrast himself with this weak candidate.
Both Cruz and Trump will do it, with Cruz winning the 2004 states except maybe NH, but picking up NM, CO and one or more rust belt states. Trump is weaker in the west, but stronger in the northeast, putting NY/NJ/PA more than in play.
GOP on steroids!!
What is it that you disagree with? Are you saying that since Trump has never even nominally been a Republican, that the term "RINO" is inaccurate since he doesn't really even claim to be a republican? If that is the case, then you might have a point. Other than that, it is hard to see why somebody might refer to a long-term contributor to Hillary and other democrats, a long-term advocate of government run single-payer health insurance, a long-term crony capitalist supporter of confiscation and redistribution of private property, and big-government statist as a "RINO".
Are you talking about the same Palin who just decided to endorse Trump?
No, Thelma and Louise sat back and watched their self described “betters” force feed two gargantuan losers in eight years on them that had no chance of winning because the base hated them.
But Thelma and Louise were told by their pompous assed fossilized betters that they knew what is best for them, and themselves, of course.
Thelma and Louise have had enough and want those betters kicked to the curb. Those gals are determined and there are more of them than their betters believe.
So, they hopped in their car and laughed with glee all the way down the road to the polls. Yippee ki o You go girls!
How long of a track record does somebody have to have around here before losing "newbie" status?
David Catron, the writer of this article, has his head so far up his a$$ he could check himself for bowel cancer.
See, these anti-Trump intellectuals are trying to do alinsky like Trump does, and they can’t do it. They try, but they look ridiculous, like Danny DeVito playing in the NBA.
Trump can do it. He is the only candidate who can do it.
By the way ... does anyone know if Trump ever went bankrupt? That could REALLY make the difference if that were true! Does anyone know?
Another angle from another Trump hit piece. They will never learn; they think that an asinine assertion carries its own force for convincing people of its truth, like standing in a bucket of water and trying to pick it up.
Maybe Trump is doing so well, because everybody else running just plain sucks. It might just be that simple.
“So do you agree with his bs premise?”
rootin tootin must be in the shower now. Oh wait, a look at rootin tootin’s history shows that he or she always posts an article and never replies.
Yes.
She also mentioned her support for the onvenient onstitutionalist, ruz, in her rump endorsement speech - but you didn't listen to THAT, did you?
Your head was too busy exploding... ;-)
And do we get his pick for the Republican candidate and rationale why THAT candidate would beat Hillary Clinton?
Hillary may beat Trump, but only because there are 27 million more undocumented workers than in 2012, many of whom will be driven to the polls in buses and given free smartphones.
Articles like this jab piece turn my stomach. Come on David, are you willing to lay it on the line and say Hillary wins no matter what, or at least give us your pick?
That post wins the coveted, rarely awarded don-o
Oh a Cruzgrenader~!
several times the GOP has had the door wide open to elect their âconservative/establishmentâ candidate and, with the exception of dubya, everyone blew the opportunity.

what is the definition of insanity?
Great post.
Trump hasn’t won one delegate yet.
If he gets the nom, he’s on this last also.
Donât expect âtootinrootinâ to respond. It only post articles from American Spectator probably
as a job responsiblility. We have a few that onboard that appears to be part of their jobs.

Einstein did a good job of describing the answer to your question.
How many sleepless nights did this idiot spend making up this drivel.
Pray America wakes
