In an earlier piece -- which I strongly urge you to read -- I expanded on certain factors evident in the Trump phenomenon. Trump is
And as I wrote, "[W]hen you have a hero, leading the troops in the heat of battle against a despised oppressor, you don't worry about his marriages, past ideological indiscretions or salty language. You charge right behind him." This is largely why Trump's contradictions don't matter. Yet more can be said.
*snip*
Trump has been criticized for speaking in vague generalities and not providing specifics on the campaign trail. This misses the point. If advertising a product on TV, do you willingly provide mundane details about its ingredients or describe the intricacies of its manufacturing process? That's more the stuff of documentaries, and, insofar as the vendor goes, would only be found on an Internet product-information page (tantamount to a politician's policy-position page) provided for those interested.

Well, politically speaking, who is more likely to do good? Someone with principles or someone without? Either type can be charismatic.
Are you familiar with Zimbabwe?
“There is no logic to it.”
It’s the most logical mindset in the world at this time in history. The “love affair” isn’t based on feelings; it’s based on the knowledge that if it’s not Trump it’ll be a Socialist. Once y’all stop smoking the sofa, come down off your high, and recognize the truth (that Cruz CANNOT win), logic will be your friend, too.
What I can’t grasp is that, after looking at DoughtyOne’s Caucus chart, a couple of FReepers choose Bush. (The field’s title isn’t “total”, but I think it’s the total for that column.”
I'd prefer not to be ruled by the angry mob mentality or another narcissistic dictator at the helm.
“Some see Trump as our last best chance at a bloodless Revolution.”
You are probably correct. I like Cruz’s ideas and think he would make the better president, but I like Trump’s attitude and his non-PC talk. I will happily vote for either candidate.
“After 8 years of Obumbles can it REALLY get any worse?”
Oy! Remember when we asked that same question while Clinton was in office? We got an answer in 2008; the answer was, “Yes” Much worse!”.
Go Trump!
“Department of Education William J. Bennett in a Temporary position”
I don’t think so. IIRC, he looooves and promoted Common Core.
The last time an Establishment of a Western country was this disconnected from the people they had their heads disconnected from their bodies.
Oh and the status quo is not dangerous. What an idiotic point of view.
It’s good to hear that you have your finger on the pulse of the Trump-supporting public. If you could, please explain to everyone why you think people support Trump. Please do so without any anger, insults, or belittling. Thank you. :-)
You are wrong.

1919 Hitler started his rise to power. In 1923 Hyper inflation peeked.
As a Trump supporter, I voting for Trump to re build America because that is what I am, a born, bred American, the same as Trump....
Um. There are alternatives to “burning it all down” and “status quo.”
We can elect a constitutional conservative with a strong record of standing firm on principle.
Or we can say “to hell with America” and burn it all down. Anarchy. Then a king.
“so called experts expect Trump to be a military expert”
Actually, of the two — Trump and Cruz — Trump could be better. At least he was immersed in a military academy boarding school for four years. He kind-of “gets it” when it comes to the basics.
Burn it down.
Yup. That’s Trump’s goal. And then anarchy. And then a king.
Sad to see FReepers abandon the Constitution and embrace chaos.
Did it get arrested for voyeurism? :-)
Hitler began his rise to power in 1919, fresh out of the Army. When hyperinflation "peeked," the Nazi party and its ideas, were hardly mainstream. The Nazi Party had only about 3,000 members in 1923. They didn't peek until several years after the stock market crash, and even then didn't command huge majorities.
We have a King now. I didn’t for the unconstitutional bastard but the rules have changed forever. You can’t put that genie back in the bottle without an Art V convention that creates an amendment killing the power of Executive Order.
