"The ad is very misleading. In fact, it outright lies about a widow's home being bulldozed," Pierson tells Breitbart News in an exclusive interview. "When you look at the facts, there is a process in place for eminent domain which was followed in this instance. Ms. Coking ended up keeping her property for years, because Mr. Trump didn't purchase it, and it ended up saving him a fortune," Pierson adds. In 2014, 16 years after the court battle ended and several years after Coking moved to California, her grandson sold the house at auction for $530,000, far less than Trump was willing to pay her in the 1990s. When Pain endorsed Trump, Ted had nothing but kind words for her.
When Beck endorsed Cruz, Trump resorted to playground taunts on Twitter.
Given the choice between the man who has studied and defended the Constitution for his entire adult life and the shady business man who changes his position while maintaining a childish demeanor, I’ll choose the former.
Corrupt state officials would back corrupt local officials.
Constitutional rights should mot be subjected to a vote.
But he didn’t, he just said he understood why his father did. I disagree with you totally since an outsider can’t know all the facts its exactly the wrong place to judge.
When two people get divorced and you know both do you take one person’s side and judge the other? I step back unless there has been spousal abuse, alcohol or drug abuse and figure there are two sides to every story.
Government can’t foreclose on private real estate when there are no back taxes owed.
The little lady’s house still stands, but yes she sold it in 2014. It seems an important detail.
That is why Cruz left that bottom line detail out of his disingenuous ad. Legally the ad was perfect. Morally, Cruz was out to impress the dupes with it, who are uninformed.
How cool is that?
Its unfortunate. Balancing individual rights and freedoms against the public interest always is. In America we side with the rights of the individual more than in any other Nation but there are exceptions. I think there is a need for eminent domain but wish the uses could be clearcut and in areas where it is unavoidable.
Atlantic City was a terrible slum with no jobs. The city decided to pursue a plan to revitalize the center as have many other cities. Hard to do that without Eminent Domain.
I think the City of New London was in there somewhere.
They condemned the property. There was no foreclosure.
I have not studied history of the GNR outfit. May at the time it was built, the wild west was still pretty much uninhabited.
Sorry about using foreclose when I meant condemned..bad bad bad

Palin didn’t attack Ted but Beck attacked Trump.
Big difference.
Cruz recommended Roberts for Scotus.
“When Beck endorsed Cruz, Trump resorted to playground taunts on Twitter.”
So did I. When you get up on a stage and proudly let Ronald McDonald humiliate you with a fake swearing in you get what you get. :-)
That is a lie.
Trump “attempted” to use government to do that, but never succeeded.
Don’t lie.
You’re right, the Great Northern I believe bought government land (indian land?) and sold it to settlers to finance the building of it.
I guess if highways, hospitals, etc. could do that, we wouldn’t need the use of eminent domain. Then we could just take a black pen and cross out that part of the constitution.
Waaaa! Teacher she made a face at me. Waaaaa!
Ah, OK. Thanks.
Hey, I’m not the one who runs to the big man when people are a little hard on Ayatollah Trump. I simply pinged a list of real conservatives to let them all know how far all of you have sunk, and how pathetic you’ve become.
;-)
