Trump's feud with Kelly has been one of the most memorable storylines of this raucous GOP primary. In recent weeks, it has heated up. In a lengthy Vanity Fair profile this month, Kelly boasted of writing the now famous debate question about Trumpâs history of misogynic comments, which ignited the feud this summer. And last week, Kelly sarcastically brought up Sarah Palin's Trump endorsement, as well as hosted National Review editor Rich Lowry to promote the National Reviewâs anti-Trump issue.
Trumpâs campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, indicated that Trump could walk away from the debate if Fox wonât exclude Kelly. âLetâs see what happens,â he told me. âItâs fair to say Mr. Trump is a significant ratings driver for these debates. If we arenât on stage for some reason, they wouldnât have the record 24 million viewers and would be back with 1-2 million people.â
In the past, the Republican National Committee has banned media it deems unfair. It canceled a debate on NBC, and excluded the ManchesterUnion Leader and National Review, after both outlets attacked Trump. But in this case, the RNC won't be getting involved. "It's up to Fox," Sean Spicer, the Republican National Committee chief strategist, told me.
In a statement to reporters, Fox News spokesperson Irena Briganti said: "Megyn Kelly has no conflict of interest. Donald Trump is just trying to build up the audience for Thursday's debate, for which we thank them .
Lewandowski, Trumpâs campaign manager, told me Trump could stage his own televised town hall on Thursday night and let Foxâs rivals air it. âThat would be a great idea," he said.

Trump Rekindles Feud With Megyn Kelly Ahead of Fox News Debate: âShe Should Not Be Allowed to Be a Moderatorâ
Get out of the kitchen, Donald.
And Megyn, you go back into the kitchen. And take off your shoes and socks.
Hooray for Hollywood!
That’s Show-Biz!
When have you ever heard a GOP candidate crab about and take pot shots at a debate moderator?
Not one of them raised a fuss or an eyebrow over Candy Crowley's crap.
To New York Mag:
Trump did NOT “rekindle” anything...Kelly did a show with guests that tried to tear apart trump BEFORE he ever made this comment...
Try some REAL journalism for a change instead of “spin” journalism....
“Hooray for Hollywood!...”
Boo hoo for America.
But FOX wants to put her on in the hopes that there will be fireworks, and that their ratings will go up.
Trump’s right (like him or not). But, I’m betting:
1/ he can handle any biased or inane questions she may ask
2/ he could get more TV viewers putting on his own, separate show
Just cause she has those dead cold shark eyes doesn’t mean you have to cry like a baby Donald.
And Big Time Wrestling is real.
To be fair though the mods that night and especially her was way out of control.
Do a town hall on CNN with Anderson Cooper as the moderator host.
Don't you know they would jump at it, and Anderson Cooper has been very fair this entire election season. It would absolutely gut Fox and the RNC.
The Don will not take the bait..it will be tough to deal with but he will deal with it and well
he should do a town hall on another channel on the same night.
but he shouldn’t threaten boycotting if he’s not going to.
makes it look like he lost the fight if he does it AND megan is a questioner.
Both Trump and maggot kelly are manhattanites, not hollywoodian. They are reality tv, not fiction, making a real-world impact.
You are absolutely correct!
Donald should STFU and let the presstitutes run the show!
Who does he think he is, anyway? A Presidential candidate?
